I made a backup with lg supermulti seccure disk lightscribe using nero 7.0 or power producer it appeared to successfully create a seccure backup cd ejected automaticaly stating success my system crashed how do i use the disk ?

Asked by: joeogg
We appreciate your interest in this Optical Drive. If this is a system recovery disc, then it would depend greatly on which recovery function was installed on the computer. It is suggested to contact the manufacturer of the computer, in order to walk through the recovery process. If this is a standard backup disc, then it will be necessary to change the BOOT SEQUENCE in the system BIOS, to read the OPTICAL DRIVE, rather than the Hard Disk.

my driver does not open anyway i tried it was working but don't know  how it stopped

Asked by: dhruv
Please pardon us, but we would need some clarification on what the exact problem is with your LG Internal SATA 24x Super-Multi SecurDisc™, Model # GH24LS50. Are you saying that the problem is that the tray will not slide open? If that is the problem you're having with the unit, if you look to the left of the power light indicator, you will notice a small round hole in the middle of the unit. Take a paper clip or any small firm object that will fit into that hole so you can manually open the DVD/CD tray. You may want to contact LG India for assistance at 1800 315 9999 Or 1800 180 9999...^IFV

how can i reinstall the driver for my gh24ls50

This drive has been designed as a Plug and Play device. Any drivers are stored in the Operating System of your computer. Reinstalling the drive itself should also reinstall the drivers automatically.

my drive wont recognise dvd+rw's

do i need to update drivers for it?
Asked by: jess
You may wish to attempt updating the drivers used by this drive. Uninstall the drive from your computer and shut it off. Disconnect the drive, and restart the computer. Shut the unit off again, and reconnect the drive. When the Operating System starts, it will start looking for the most compatible driver for this unit. If this still does not resolve the matter, then it will be recommended to contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Want to use lightscribe option but where do I get the software?

This software doesn't appear to be included on the installation cd. How is it used and where can I find it?
Asked by: RC
You may need to obtain a copy of the latest version of the LSS Lightscribe System Software. This can be downloaded from lightscribe.com. Beyond the drive and the System Software, the only other things needed are a lightscribe disc and the label-printing software. If additional assistance is needed, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Cannot delete LG Power Tools software that came with CD. Cyberlink is the company who made the software and it won't even let me re-install but works.

Try to unistall in safe mode in Windows 7 and it gave me a 1702 error message. Try to install new Cyberlink software that came with a new blu ray dvd/cd and it wouldn't let me install.
Asked by: Smuc
Thank you for your question. My recommendation would be going to the control panel and deleting the program there and then cleaning out the registry of the computer of that program. If you are still having problems, please contact one of our product specialists at 1-800-243-0000 for assistance with your unit.

GH24LS50 not recognized in XP

Just bought a new GH24LS50 and my PC does not recognize after installing it and connecting everything. I've completely removed the serial cable since it not longer connects to anything, and have tried connecting the SATA cable into the two available connections on the board, still no luck. Can't run the set up disc, since PC doesn't see the drive, so copied the disc onto flash drive and tried that. No luck there either, not sure I ran the correct file, but got a reading saying wrong OS. Help, this shouldn't eb this difficult.

This is not an LG issue. Microsoft has put this website out to assist customers with their disc drive. Please go to support.mircosoft.com/kb/982116. Follow the steps on the screen to clean your registry on your unit. There is a chance that your unit will work after that. If you are in warranty, please call one of our product specialists at 1-800-243-0000.
