What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bogus product I have been using lg modisc frm beginning of my system. The drive was the same that didn't last for 1 whole year & again I've purchased 1 more LG modisc super multi drive but this is also not working at all. I am embarrassed with the quality of the product. A such a faulty product frm LG is not admissible

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Died an early death Got the first one of these drives on Saturday to replace my old one that wasn't compatible with my new motherboard. That drive died on Monday. Went back to Best Buy and got a replacement. It read the install disc for the DVD Drive just fine and then died in less than 12 hours. Checked all connections and ran a troubleshooter. Properties on the drive says that it's working normally....since when is a DVD drive that doesn't read discs working normally? Got it for the features and the price....will most likely NOT buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Drive No complaints so far with this drive....seems to read well. Have not used it to write yet as I have only had it for a couple of weeks. The only minor complaint is that it is somewhat noisy ...more so than other drives I have owned but that really is a minor issue for me. I hope it proves to be a reliable product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great writer at a great price. Installation was simple, driver was in Windows 7 and in about 10 minutes I was writing DVD's. My first experience with LightScribe, but also a piece of cake. Great product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bad decision This drive takes longer then normal to recognize disks. I have lost a lot of DVDs to this monster. The bios on my computer hang allot on this drive. My computer won't boot if there is media in the tray.

In most cases, Windows has the drivers installed. If not, go to the manufacturers web site and find there.

how do i get updated firmware for my GH24L570 burners

Asked by: cromedomeis
I apologize, but at this time, we have no firmware updates available for this drive. When such an update is available, it would be found on our website at http://www.lg.com/us/computer-products/optical-media/LG-internal-dvd-burner-GH24LS70.jsp. Select the SUPPORT tab, and search the right hand column for a DRIVERS & SOFTWARE link. If there is no such link, then there is no software updates available, as is currently the case.

How do I get it to write faster than 1x?

Asked by: Anonymous
There are few aspects involved with the write speed of a drive. This particular drive should be able to write a DVD-Rdisc at 24x. Check the discs being used, that they can burn at such a speed. Also, it is recommended to check the data transfer rates of the computer and the available hard drive space on your system. If you have additional questions, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.
