What people are saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great features and Value At first this NAS seemed very promising with its full set of features and value. However getting some of the features to work and tech support is very challenging. The main reason I bought this NAS was so i could have remote access to my files with my iPad. 3 months later and i still cannot get access due to some unknown reason with the app giving an error message" Network warning check your network status" . I tried reinstalling the app, changing ports etc still no success. I want to mention that i get full access with all my other computers, laptops and DLNA devices with no issues at all. LG needs to revisit its app for this device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock Solid once it is set-up This is a very sold, incredibly priced NAS. That being said, it took a little bit of work to get it set-up the way I wanted. The manual and CD that come with it are not as helpful as they need to be. That being said, a quick search filled in the blanks and it is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something to attach to my home network and be able to access all of my video and files from all of my devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful, Reliable Drive! I've had a great experience using the N1T1 as both an external hard drive and a DVD writer, and I appreciate its stability and reliability on both fronts. The transfer speed is definitely acceptable, and I love that it has a USB port for a flash drive (or other external drive) as well as the fact that it supports Apple's Time Machine. On top of that, the design is sleek and modern, which is aesthetically pleasing.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this Network Attached Storage device. Unfortunately, according to the information in your owner’s manual, if the UserName and Password cannot be remembered, it will not be possible to utilize the domain. This was a security feature to safeguard your data. The safety warning page states, “In the event of the administrator forgetting the password, restoration is impossible. To create a new password, the system must be re-initialized. In this case, all data will be lost, and data recovery will be impossible for security reasons.”

What is meant by 'DVD playback' on the N1T1?

Can the optical drive be used to play DVDs and or CDs? Can DVDs and or CDs be copied directly to the NAS for later streaming? If it is in optical drive mode will it function as a DVD player? Many thanks.
Asked by: SamW
The phrase “DVD Playback” simply means that the drive will playback the content of the DVD. For a DVD movie, this means that the drive will read the audio/video content and transmit it out to the display device (TV/monitor). When the N1T1 device is set to its OPTICAL DRIVE mode, the drive will operate like any other computer drive. It will be able to play back a DVD movie, as long as the appropriate software has been installed.

Why does my N1T1DD1 report size as 399Mb ?

My N1T1DD1 is being reported as 399 Mb instead of its real size of 1Tb. I have another drive that is a Tb and it's size is being reported correctly. I cannot figure out how to correct this.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this NAS system. It seems that, if one drive works properly, and a second, that is configured in the same manner and is connected properly does not, then the fault will likely be caused by the drive. This could be related to the formatting of the drive, the contents of the drive, or a physical fault of the drive itself. We appreciate your interest in this NAS device. There is no default IP Address. The unit will acquire whatever IP Address is assigned to it by the router.

How to move directories using File Browser

Using the "File Browser," I have been unable to figure out how to move a directory of files. I have way too many organized pictures to move up one one at a time, or one set of files at a time. I need to move directories! Thanks for any suggestions.
Asked by: Aerocanarder
We appreciate your interest in this NAS device. To perform the task you have mentioned, you will need to use SAMBA. From WINDOWS, click START and then RUN. Type in \\ipaddress. This should show you all the folders on your NAS unit. This way, you will be able to use the standard Windows Explorer to drag and drop all your desired items. If you have additional questions about this matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.
