What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth having The dishwasher has never washed correctly. The dealership nor the company stand behind the product. I didn't know this model was discontinued until looking at the site today. I think there must be a reason it was discontinued.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This dishwasher does a good job! I had been waiting for my local appliance store to have their annual sale in May. The owner highly recommended LG products because of their warranty, so we bought the one that suited our needs. I had been handwashing dishes for about a month, waiting for this sale. With great joy, I am happy to be using squeaky clean glasses and plates. I wash the day's dishes after dinner and they are dry by morning, although the door is sometimes still wet.. Because of government regulations, no dishwashers come with a heater these days. I love the tines on the racks which are adjustable and in two groups so that the left side can be a different arrangement from the right side on each row! That is a lot to customize. The silverware baskets were in the back when the installation was finished. I moved it to the front (where they were on my previous dishwasher) and then to the right side. It makes sense to have it in the front, because I am always finding one more spoon or tool to be washed. My water comes from a well with a filter and a light against bacteria, and a water softener which uses salt. I am using liquid dishwasher soap with no rinse agent and it is working well. If I need a rinse solution to get rid of spots in the future, I have that option.

Is it possible to ge a lower rack that the tines are stationary? Model #LDS5040BB, it would go a long way to helping me like this DW better if the tines didnt keep falling over!

why wont the rear legs adjust or are they automatic?

adjusted front to match cabinets but rears wont adjust i really need the rears to adjust or a 2x4 will have to do.
Asked by: GOhio
Hi Gohio. All the legs on the LG Semi-Integrated Dishwasher with Flexible EasyRack™ System, Model # LDS5040BB are manually adjustable. It might be that where the hind legs are is near where the drain hose is and some moisture might have stiffened them, you may need to apply a little more force to adjust them...^IFV

is there a filter to clean on our unit?

I received an email, stating to clean the filter, but where is it?
Asked by: Commissioner
For best wash results, your LG dishwasher has a built-in soft food grinder and a self-cleaning filter. The grinder grinds up soft food and residue into small particles that can be caught in the filter and washed down the drain. The self-cleaning filter system continuously cleans the wash water as it circulates to separate any residue from the wash water. All dirt and residue easily washes down the drain. Make sure there are no other large items in the bottom of the dishwasher.

Is there a sofware upgrade for this unit to heat the water in the wash cycles

The unit LDS504BB does not clean well unless we baby-sit the hot water and ensure that it is fully hot running when the washer is filling. We use the rinse aid and cascade platinum tablets. If we do not keep the water hot, we get incomplete cleaning and/or some film on the glasses. If we could have the unit upgraded to heat the water, it would work very well for us. Not concerned with the energy rating as clean dishes are preferable.
Asked by: Providence360
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dishwasher. The lowest average water temperature used during the WASH cycle is 115 degrees. The wash and rinse temperatures are listed on page 9 of your owner’s manual.

What does full integrated and semi integrated mean with your dishwashers?

Asked by: ConfusedinNJ
Full integrated means the buttons that control the functions are hidden on the top side of the door. Semi integrated the buttons are on the front of the door.

Does this model have a food disposer?

The Home Depot website says it does, says it does, the Best Buy website says it does not, and the LG website itself says it does. I just want to clarify. Thanks!

I have a new LG Dishwasher Model LDS5040BB

It does not dry the dishes and I cannot find any settings for this... Can you tell me where to find that?
Asked by: SSpringer
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dishwasher. The drying of the dishes is an automatic portion of the wash process on most cycles. A CYCLE OPTION chart is available on page 9 of your owner’s manual to suggest which settings allow for a full DRY cycle. If you have additional questions, or more specific information regarding the cycles in use, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for assistance.
