My plates won't stand/stack, they topple over.  I'm using the lower rack. Also the lower rack slides completely off the rail.   Is there a "fix" for either of the above?

Asked by: Bvn88
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this dishwasher. If the dish rack comes off its track, then it is suggested not to pull it out of the cabinet quite so far. Check the basket tines to be certain they are properly in place. If they are not holding properly, even when used correctly, then it would be recommended to contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

I have this model and the dishes come out dirty. Had a service call today and was told it is operating ñormal. Was advised to preheat the sink water in order for the water to be hot Technican stated this model has a small heater. What good is delay start?

Asked by: gunner30157
Generally the only time that the water will need to be preheated is if the water is not reaching 120 degrees in a timely manner. Allow the water to run just for a minute or two to build up the hot water temperature before starting the washing cycle.

My dishwasher keeps running. No water or anything but the machine is on and the load of dishes are washed and dried.  It's been 6.5 hours

It seems that the powder in the dispenser does not get into the wash and a clump of it (usually around half) is left in the dispenser when the cycle is complete.  How do I get this to work properly?

Asked by: Jwein
If you are using a powdered dishwasher detergent that is specifically designed for use with automatic dishwashers like the LG Semi-Integrated Dishwasher w/ Height Adjustable 3rd Rack, Model # LDS5774ST, only an automatic dishwasher detergent can be used in an automatic dishwasher. These products come in either powder or gel form. What you also have to keep in mind is that powder automatic dishwasher detergents readily take up and retain moisture and carbon dioxide gas from the atmosphere which causes it to become lumpy. As long as it properly dissolves it can be used, but may be somewhat less effective. To help prevent this condition, the carton is specially designed to provide a moisture barrier. You should open the package as directed, avoiding unnecessary tearing of the overwrap and closing the box after each use. Always select undamaged packages and purchase only one or two at a time to ensure maximum product effectiveness. You may also want to check if you live in a hard water area, hard water contains dissolved mineral salts - like calcium and magnesium which can interfere with a detergent's ability to clean or dissolve, the easiest way to know if you have it is to call your local water company or public utility service department. Also check that your water is set at the recommended temperature, your water supply temperature should be a minimum of 120°F (49°C) for better washing and reasonable cycle time...^IFV
