What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I think I got a lemon! We just bought our first house and decided on a good LG dishwasher. It never really cleaned like it should for the price. We always had to rinse our dishes before washing them. Then after a year it quits with a code of -nE. The warranty company came to my house 6 times and replaced "everything" they said could cause the error. The warranty company of course isn't providing a comparable replacement. Very disappointed it couldn't be fixed and was less than 2 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty unit and Errors frequently Bought this unit from Lowes. After about 5 washes, the unit would stop in the middle of washes and beep. I'd have to open the door, shut the door and push start. This would happen 1 to maybe 3 times during a wash cycle. Called customer service. They sent out a tech and they found the Service bulletin that indicated the control panel needs to be replaced, a "known issue". Moisture gets in the control panel due to no seal between the door panel and the control panel. (Bad Design). So, of course the unit is on back order and they didn't know when the unit will be in. About 2 weeks go by, I have to call back. Then, the said they'll schedule a replacement unit. Another week goes by, no response. I call back again. Then they say they have another part that will replace the one that's on back order. So, they canceled the replacement unit. I asked when the part will be delivered and they didn't know. After using the unit the dishwasher it got worse. It then started erroring with an error code "AE". Saying there's a leak in the unit. Troubleshooting says check your soap and this occurs sometimes if there's suds in the unit. We use Finish pods, a well known dishwasher soap. There was no leak on any of the connections. We did find just a small amount of soapy water accumulated in the tray at the bottom of the unit. So, when water goes in that tray, it automatically, stops functioning and errors. By this time we were so tired of the problems and very poor customer service from LG so we returned the unit to Lowes. I will never by another LG product again. Also, if LG knows they are selling faulty units, why don't they recall the units at the stores so the customer doesn't have to go through all the hassles. This is another reason why I'll never purchase another LG product. I've written another comment about this issue and I've noticed LG didn't post it in the reviews. I'll see if this one shows up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smell We bought the LG dishwasher about 1 yr. Ago. After accumulating dishes , there is a pretty strong odor. We do rinse the dishes for any large piece s of food. I've used the refresh feature, which helps some. We leave the door slightly open, so the inside doesnt get humid, which makes the smell worst. I've also cleaned the filter which didn't help. I've never had a machine that smelled like this one does. I wouldn't recommend this dishwasher. Has anyone had this problem?

Does model # LG ( LDT7808SS) have a hard food disposal built in also does it have a removable filter you can take out and wash?

Asked by: Cwcc
The LG Top Control Smart wi-fi Enabled Dishwasher with QuadWash™ and TrueSteam®, Model # LDT7808SS does not have a built-in hard food disposal. It has an assembled inner filter and a stainless filter that can be removed so you can check the sump opening to see if any foreign materials need to be removed. The stainless steel filter has sharp edges so it should be handled with caution. The owner's manual has a chart for how often the filters should be cleaned according to the number of loads washed per week...^IFV

There was a previous question regarding NSF certification but the answer was not very clear.  It appears no LG dishwasher has been certified by NSF for sanitation?  Does the dishwasher not reach high enough temperatures?

Asked by: fluffydr
NSF certification (NSF/ANSI 184) requires that residential dishwashers achieve a minimum of 99.99 percent or 5-log reduction of bacteria and that they reach a final rinse temperature of 150º F. Sanitization performance is verified only when the dishwashers are operated on the sanitizing cycle. The Top Control Smart wi-fi Enabled Dishwasher with QuadWash™ and TrueSteam®, Model # LDT7808BD should be connected to a hot water supply with a temperature range between 120 °F (49 °C) and 149 °F (65 °C). This temperature range provides the best washing results and the shortest cycle time. To prevent damage to dishes, the temperature should not exceed 149 °F (65 °C). How hot the water is will depend on what temperature you set your hot water heater at. Although the dishwasher does not have a Sanitizing cycle, NSF Official Listings that are current as of Thursday, November 07, 2019 at 12:15 a.m. Eastern Time list this model as being NSF/ANSI 184 certified. You can contact NSF to confirm the status of the listing...^IFV

Does soap dispenser accommodate soap pods such as Cascade Platinum, and is there a dispenser for a rinse agent such as Jet Dry?

Asked by: Oregon Bunny
Typically, dishwasher pods are designed to dissolve upon contact with water so they can be placed in the Main Wash compartment for the LG Top Control Smart wi-fi Enabled Dishwasher with QuadWash™ and TrueSteam®, Model # LDT7808SS. We highly recommend that you follow the manufacturer's instructions on the package for the soap pods for their use in the dishwasher. The dishwasher has a separate compartment for rinse aid & rinse aid is strongly recommended to enhance the drying performance of the dishwasher. In order to be more energy-efficient, the hybrid drying system does not use a heating element to assist in drying, so a rinse aid plays an integral role in the drying process. If a rinse aid is not used, water may remain on the dishes and the tub. Rinse aid helps to ensure that the majority of the water has been sheeted off of the dishes at the end of the rinse and that the load is ready for the dry cycle...^IFV

Does this dishwasher have an option for no bar handle? If so, how can I make that happen? My entire kitchen is now matte black--it would be a terrible shame if I had to send everything back because I can't open my utensil drawer due to 0.5" overlap.

Asked by: Chris42
No, the dishwasher cannot be ordered without a handle. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Why is this not NSF certified for sanitation?

Asked by: NathanTex
Hello NathanTex. The National Sanitation Foundation has set a standard named NSF/ANSI Standard 184, which means that dishwashers bearing this certification kill 99.99 percent of bacteria when operated on the "sanitize" setting. In order to be certified, they also must reach 150 degrees Fahrenheit during final rinse. The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG Top Control Smart wi-fi Enabled Dishwasher with QuadWash™ and TrueSteam®, Model # LDT7807ST does not have a "Sanitize" setting and it is recommended that you connect it to a hot water supply with a minimum temperature setting of 120 °F (49 °C), and 149 °F (65 °C) maximum...^IFV
