What People Are Saying

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Newest model a disappointment The last two versions of this dryer were terrific. I used them at rentals and would consider no other appliance for our new home. The new model is such a disappointment - the controls are nearly impossible to see (especially stacked) and with all the un-changeable pre-sets on this model, I can't use the machine the way I want to. Now I'm stuck with this dryer/washer set that I thought I would love because I've used it for several years elsewhere, only to find the 2018 model is all about its smart app instead of the customer. Doing the laundry has become a drag. The pre-set, unchangeable cycles are not the way I do laundry, but obviously LG no longer has the user in mind.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ruins my clothes I’ve had this dryer for a few years. Everything is great aside from the fact that LG had decided to be cheap on the lint catcher. It sticks out slightly and so clothes get caught in the corner which twists and pulls some of the clothing and ends up tearing the clothes! It has ruined many expensive items. This should never happen. It’s really disappointing, especially being that I spent a lot of money on this dryer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Dryer We have been using this dryer for three weeks and am pleased with its performance. I like the wrinkle care that keeps the clothes intact until they are removed.

Can you give the approximate drying temperatures of the three temperature options?

Asked by: clothier 1
Regrettably, our specifications do not list any temperatures for the drying cycles nor for the maximum drying temperature on the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.4 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Smart wi-fi Enabled Electric Dryer, Model # DLE3500W. The dual sensors system for the Sensor Dry Cycles detects and compares the moisture levels in the clothes and in the air and adjusts the drying time as needed to ensure superior results. The dryer automatically sets the dryness level and temperature at the recommended setting for each cycle. The Dry levels on this dryer are listed as Very Dry, Normal Dry and Damp Dry, however, those are ranges and the Temperature Settings are listed as High, Medium, Ultra Low. After the early 1990s, most dryer manufacturers reduced the internal temperatures for dryers and most modern dryers have at least three general cycles: low heat for delicates, medium heat for permanent press and high heat for regular clothes. The temperature range is typically 125°F to 135°F across these cycles. As a reference, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission states that an adult can suffer third-degree burns after five minutes if his skin is exposed to hot tap water at 120°F, so as a safety measure, companies want to make sure that the dryer cannot cause harm as you are interrupting a cycle or unloading clothes after drying is complete...^IFV
