What people are saying

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Moisture sensor under lint filter is a problem Let me start my review by saying this is a new dryer this year and I ALWAYS clean off the lint filter thoroughly after EVERY load of clothes dried. This "moisture sensor" is not referred to in the owners manual (that I can find). I learned about it by calling customer service because my dryer kept stopping 5 minutes into an hour long cycle. I was instructed to "remove the lint filter and insert a soft cloth into the filter compartment and wipe the silver plate clean". This did temporarily solve the problem, but It happens frequently and is a very difficult space to access to wipe down. An adult hand does not fit through the opening, so a slender implement covered with a cloth must be used. I finally bought a microfiber "gap duster" from Amazon that fits neatly into the filter opening and seems to clean the sensor plate effectively. The wipe down only lasts a load or two and then problem returns. This adds extra steps to my laundry chores, and although I can deal with it now that I have a gap duster, I would not recommend buying this dryer until this flaw is redesigned and a new model is introduced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Dryer Ever! I recently purchased the washer/dryer set and I regret it! They are both the worst appliances I've ever purchased. For the dryer, I've yet to have a load come out "dry" after the first cycle. The dry sensor doesn't work at all, everything is damp. And if I use the "very dry" setting, regardless of the heat level, my clothes come out very hot. I read someone said about a burnt smell, I've noticed a smell as well. Also, everything comes out so wrinkled, even on the permanent press or delicate setting. Even my towels come out wrinkled, and don't get me started on sheets! I regret missing my window to return both of these appliances, they are horrible!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Dryer Ever!!!! I've never owned or operated a dryer that didn't have a light!!! This was not a cheap dryer, how does it not have a light!! My previous LG dryer had a light. I thought all dryers had lights so I did not think to questions such a basic feature. In addition to no light, it takes so long to dry clothes! I have to turn it on twice and sometimes I notice that burn smell that usually happens when one's dryer is very old. This is a horrible product and I will not buy an LG appliance again as a result. The LG washer I bought with it is mediocre at best. Not even worth writing a review, good or bad. Don't buy this dryer!!!

My new LG 7.3 Cu Ft. 8-Cycle Gas Dryer Model: DLG7101W does not get warm enough in the normal mode to dry the load  The temperature setting does not change. So, I've been using the heavy duty mode.  That seems to work; but, I'm afraid it may be too hot.

Did you have your vent ducts cleaned out before installing the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.3 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Sensor Dry Technology, Model # DLG7101W or perform the Installation Test (Duct Check) as instructed on page 24 in your owner's manual to confirm proper operation? Effective dryer operation requires proper airflow so your vent ductwork should be checked for lint buildup and cleaned at least once per year. If any noticeable reduction in drying performance occurs, check the duct for obstructions and blockages. Once you have completed the installation of the dryer, use the installation Test to make sure the condition of the exhaust system is adequate for proper operation of the dryer. This test should be performed to alert you to any serious problems in the exhaust system of your home. This dryer features Flow Sense™, an innovative sensing system that automatically detects blockages and restrictions in dryer ductwork. Keeping ductwork clean of lint buildup and free of restrictions allows clothes to dry faster and reduces energy use. Please refer to the instructions on page 25 of your owner's manual for directions on how to use the test. If the Flow Sense™ LED is turned on, check the exhaust system for restrictions and damage. Repair or replace the exhaust system as needed or have it professionally cleaned...^IFV
