What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dryer is the best I have used. No loud buzz I bought this dryer when I got my washer, it was a great deal. Has a lot of features I use a lot, One thing I like is that you can control the heat very easily. Drys quickly then shuts off. They both are great machines.

How do you find a small item lost in the dryer?

Asked by: Wendy Mm
That depends on how small the "small item" that is lost in the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.3 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Sensor Dry Technology, Model # DLG7101W is. You will need to disassemble the dryer to see if you can find that lost small item inside the dryer's cabinet...^Ivan

Are all gas dryers now HE ?? Or only if it is labeled so on the product?

Asked by: Lori0864
All dryers manufactured in the United States have to meet certain minimum efficiency requirements set by the Department of Energy. However, energy-efficient dryers have to exceed those standards. According to EnergyStar, the program that certifies energy-efficient appliances, a high-efficiency dryer should be at least 20 percent more efficient than a regular dryer. High-efficiency dryers don't actually exist yet, at least not in American appliance stores. The fact of the matter is that all dryers on the U.S. market today use about the same amount of energy. Energy Star doesn't even rate clothes dryers for this reason. And Energy Star won't even consider rating dryers until a cost-effective model that is at least 20 percent more efficient than standard models is available. If you look closely at current high-efficiency washer/dryer sets being sold, you'll find that it's the washer that earns the high-efficiency rating. The dryer is just riding on the washer's coattails. The term "high-efficiency washer and dryer" is a marketing tactic that leads you to believe that both appliances are energy-efficient when, in fact, they aren't. Heat pump dryers meet or exceed the Energy Star Requirements...^Ivan

I just purchased an LG dryer 7101. There is a black panel on the right side that seems to be a touch panel.  How does this panel function? Can the options be changed ?  I am about ready to return this dryer. It is so frustrating. Terrible user manual.

Asked by: Shiz
As explained on page 29 of the owner's manual for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.3 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Sensor Dry Technology, Model # DLG7101W in the 'Operation' section under 'Control Panel', there is an illustrated diagram for the black panel that you are referring to has a dotted line surrounding the Time and Status Display (annotated as 4) that the owner's manual explains that the display shows the settings, estimated time remaining, options, and status messages for the dryer. It explains that the Cyle modifier buttons (i.e. Dry Level, Temp. and Time Dry - annotated as 6) can be used to select the desired cycle settings for the selected cycle. The current settings are shown in the display. Press the button for that modifier to select other settings. In other words, if you want to change the Dry Level from "Very", to "Normal", to "Damp", press the "Dry Level" button to select the dry level you prefer. For the temp, press the "Temp." button to select your preferred Temp. setting. The manual also annotates the Cycle Option buttons as 7 and these buttons allow you to select additional cycle options. Certain buttons also allow you to activate special functions by pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds. The additional cycle options are indicated with asterisks under the additional cycle option. For example, the Wrinkle Care button when pressed will activate the wrinkle care feature. Under the Wrinkle Care button with an asterisk is the 'Control Lock' function that can be activated by pressing and holding the Wrinkle Care button down for three seconds...^Ivan

My new LG 7.3 Cu Ft. 8-Cycle Gas Dryer Model: DLG7101W does not get warm enough in the normal mode to dry the load  The temperature setting does not change. So, I've been using the heavy duty mode.  That seems to work; but, I'm afraid it may be too hot.

Asked by: Odie6158
Did you have your vent ducts cleaned out before installing the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.3 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Sensor Dry Technology, Model # DLG7101W or perform the Installation Test (Duct Check) as instructed on page 24 in your owner's manual to confirm proper operation? Effective dryer operation requires proper airflow so your vent ductwork should be checked for lint buildup and cleaned at least once per year. If any noticeable reduction in drying performance occurs, check the duct for obstructions and blockages. Once you have completed the installation of the dryer, use the installation Test to make sure the condition of the exhaust system is adequate for proper operation of the dryer. This test should be performed to alert you to any serious problems in the exhaust system of your home. This dryer features Flow Sense™, an innovative sensing system that automatically detects blockages and restrictions in dryer ductwork. Keeping ductwork clean of lint buildup and free of restrictions allows clothes to dry faster and reduces energy use. Please refer to the instructions on page 25 of your owner's manual for directions on how to use the test. If the Flow Sense™ LED is turned on, check the exhaust system for restrictions and damage. Repair or replace the exhaust system as needed or have it professionally cleaned...^IFV
