Rated 2 out of 5 by from In the shop I was happy until about 6 weeks ago when the sound began to lag behind the lips. After 2 calls to LG and all efforts to remedy exhausted, I have brought it in to an electronics repair shop. Since it was over a year old, and past LG's warranty, I had no other recourse. The shop has still not been able to diagnose and remedy after 2 weeks. I'm very disappointed that LG's best soundbar at the time, is experiencing this issue in less than 2 years.

I have  ordered a new LG nano cell tv, it has eARC, I also have an LG SK9Y soundbar,currently connected  to my tv via an HDMI cable, do I need to get an HDMI 2.1 cable for my connection now ?????, is the SK9Y compatible to eARC ????? . Cheers, TonyP.

The HDMI eARC port on any device that features one will be clearly marked as arc or HDMI eARC as it is on your new LG Nano Cell TV. You do not need an HDMI 2.1 cable, any HDMI cable with the premium HDMI certification logo. Make sure that the you are using a cable that is a certified Type A, Ethernet high-speed HDMI™ cable. The LG SK9Y 5.1.2 Channel High-Resolution Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos does not have an HDMI eARC port. If you look on the back of the unit, you will see that it has an HDMI ARC port. If your TV is HDMI eARC enabled, but your AV amp or soundbar is only compatible with HDMI ARC, you'll likely get a sound – but the bandwidth restrictions of ARC will mean you won't be able to experience the high bitrate audio that eARC can provide...^Ivan

Can I expand SK9Y do 7.1.2 with SPK8-S speakers?

With the LG SPK8-S 2.0 Channel Sound Bar Wireless Rear Speaker Kit connected to the LG SK9Y 5.1.2 Channel High-Resolution Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos you are adding another 2 channels to the [5] for the 5.1.2 configuration on the Soundbar to make it a 7.1.2 configuration...^IFV

Does the SK9Y support Dolby Vision Pass-through? I have an Xbox One S plugged into the SK9Y which then is connected to my Vizio E70-F3 but I'm losing Dolby Vision in Netflix. I can connect my Xbox to my TV directly but then I lose Dolby Atmos :(

The LG 5.1.2 ch High Res Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos®, Model # SK9Y does not have Dolby Vision Pass through, but that shouldn't matter for a Soundbar. It will only matter if you have a Dolby Vision enabled source device, Dolby Vision encoded content plus a display that is capable of processing the Dolby Vision signal. If your TV supports Dolby Vision, just connect its HDMI ARC(TV ARC/HDMI OUT) to the HDMI ARC on your TV if it has one and connect your source device (4K Blu-ray Player) via HDMI to your TV. ^CP

Will this get any Meridian audio tuning as well? I've seen all of the new 2019 LG soundbar have the Meridian audio features and DTS X as well. I have no issues even if i have to pay for a firmware updates.

The LG 5.1.2 ch High Res Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos®, Model # SK9Y does not feature Meridian technology and will not receive any firmware upgrades to support the new features that will be extended to the 2019 SL10YG, SL9YG, and SL8YG Soundbar models...^IFV

I bought the SK9Y about a month ago. Absolutley love the sound bar but hate the subwoofer. Is there a better sub that LG makes that will pair to it? Or will any Wireless Sub connect?

The LG 5.1.2 ch High Res Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos®, Model # SK9Y does not support Multi-Pairing so you can only pair it with the included Subwoofer. You cannot add a second Subwoofer. Is there a bracket to mount the sound bar to the TV mount so that it 'floats' with the TV? I've looked various places online and see generic brackets but nothing specifically for this sound bar. We'd like to not have it attached to the wall if possible.

I have my SK9Y hooked up to my TV through HDMI ARC and every time I turn on my soundbar, it’s muted and have to manually turn mute off.
