What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multiple Connectability Purchased two of the same monitor for the new lab. The PC driving has an HDMI andf a DVI+D (24+5) socket for monitor Number Two. Was able to connect the LG using a DVI-I (24+1) cable right from PC apron to monitor apron and the HDMI/DVI combination came right up with good resolution on each. Matter-of-fact, the monitors both need to operate in Portrait display, and once the PC drivers spool up, both monitors flip 90 degrees automatically without any residual shenanigans like stuff off into the margins, etc. A good deal, a good monitor. The VESA mount holes are truly VESA (75X75), so there will be no problems hanging them. (The monitor weight is minimum, too.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor for the money! We purchased this monitor off the showroom floor. It has gorgeous colors, and oh the size of it. so wonderful. Easy to set up and once it was plugged in to my Windows 7 system, it was put to work. No problems and great clarity. Highly recommend if you are looking for a monitor in the 24", this would be a great choice. I bought it because of the price, kept it because of the quality.

I have a thin (pencil line) lime green vertical line that has appeared on my monitor, not quite in the center. this is the first it has appeared. Is there a way to fix this? Is the monitor going bad? 24EC53 Model

Monitor awakens with bad resolution choices

I have this connected to a MacBook Air and in normal operation (e.g., when I start up) everything is fine. However, when the system awakens from sleep, sometimes the LG monitor comes up with really awful resolution choices -- see attached screenshot. It comes up at 800x600 and the profile does not offer the correct, higher resolution ration/choices. Also, it is shown as a generic "VGA Display" (see top of Settings Window) rather than being shown as the proper LG model. If I click the "Color" tab I do see the Profile for the LG but the monitor does not recognize or avail itself of that profile.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this monitor and computer. The description provided suggests that the computer is not recognizing the device when it tries to restart. The monitor has not changed in its operations, and does not have the capabilities of changing the resolution on its own, without the software that is in the computer.

This particular monitor, the LG 24EC53 does not have speakers. You will have to use a stand alone speaker system like you generally see employed with most desktop computer systems.
