What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it My old monitor was about 11 years old and of a very low resolution so I needed something new. It had to be relatively small because of the way my desk is set up, and I was having a hard time finding a small monitor that I liked. After shopping around, I found this one and decided to try it. I am glad I did. I used the DisplayPort cable to hook it up, as my graphics card did support that and I understand it is better than HDMI. However, the DisplayPort cable and the power cord included with this monitor were only 5 feet long, which was way too short for the way I have my system set up. The instructions said that the included cables must be used. I contacted customer support and explained my situation and asked them if I could purchase a third party power cord and DisplayPort cable and was told that the original power cord really should be used but was told it was acceptable to use an extension cord. I was told I could use another DisplayPort cable. So I hooked up the monitor with the original power cord using an extension cord and I purchased a 10-foot DisplayPort cable from Walmart which worked out just fine. I turned the system on and found that with the monitor set at the recommended resolution, 3840 x 2160, everything looked very, very tiny, so I kept adjusting the resolution until it was at a comfortable level for me, which turned out to be 1280 x 720. I understand that because of this I am probably not getting the "full benefit" of this ultra-HD monitor. Nevertheless, as I said, that is the resolution that is comfortable for my eyesight, but I did find that the monitor has a very good picture even at this resolution, good colors and good lighting, and I did not even adjust any of the settings, I left the settings at the factory settings. The joystick on/off switch and settings/menu were a little different, but I got used to it quickly. Overall I am pleased that I bought this monitor. I give it 4 stars because of the situation with the cables and the power cord being so short (only 5 feet), which I felt really should have been a little longer. Six feet would have been O.K. in my situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Monitor This is a great monitor. Moving up to this from a 22" monitor has been great. I do a lot of video editing and motion graphics work that requires lots of tool panels and timelines, etc. all on screen at the same time. This monitor has plenty of space for everything. Setup could not have been easier!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would Be 5 Stars But Fonts Too Small Monitor splash screen on start up is ridiculously small ! It is barely readable and I need magnifying glass to read it. Maximum increase font size says 350% which makes it just fine for me but it won't increase anymore in size. Other than that it is a super monitor I use for video editing. I purchased LG 32" monitor but didn't like fuzzy pixels so returned it to Fry's and tried out this smaller size and love the sharpness.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wont work with MS Surface and Docking Station I can't get the monitor to work with my new MS surface computer and docking station - all I get is a black screen. I see from online research that others have had the same problem. I have verified the MS Surface and docking station work with other monitors. I haven't yet run down the cause of the problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Review of LG 24UD58-B 24 Inch 4K UHD Monitor Due to the high 4K resolution, the LG 24UD58-B resolution is really crisp. The drawback of the 4K resolution is that text is often small and while it is possible to increase the font size in each application, there are still fonts in each application that may still be really tiny. Still trying to figure out how to increase some of the font sizes. The paper instructions that come with the monitor just show the power button and do not explain that the on screen controls can be controlled by the joystick also. However, the digital version of the manual does show that the joystick can do more than just turn on and off the monitor. The monitor warns not to use cables that are not provided by LG even when the cables from LG are used, but that can be disabled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really nice monitor I bought it a few weeks ago when my previous monitor died (not an LG) and really like the LG. The 4K wasn't a requirement, but for only a little bit more money than other monitors, it was well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a view!! I purchase this monitor a month ago or so. I love the crisp color and details I get to see when working on my images, it's really amazing how much you get out of a 4K. It was super easy to set up and the on screen controls make it easy to use and adjust. It's pretty light weight too which I like. I am super happy with my purchase
