What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Performer I bought this monitor over a month ago after a lot of research and with some trepidation as I had never purchased a separate monitor before. I replaced my 8 year old iMac with a Mac Mini M2 for personal use. The LG monitor being 4K seemed superior to me in many ways and was well priced. It turned out to be easy to set up and actually surprised me as to how great it is. It came bundled with HDMI cable and I downloaded the manual from the LG site but it turned out that the quick start guide was enough...almost just plug and play. The display rivaled that of the excellent one on the old computer and it was just immediately compatible with the mini. The adjustments are very easy to make with the joystick and once you set your connection that's it. There aren't speakers nor is there a port to connect them nor is there a camera but these are taken care of at a budget price since there is such a big savings on such a high quality display. The stand is stable enough but there is the ability to purchase and attach a custom one but I don't find that necessary. The monitor comes securely packed with supplied cables. In my case HDMI works well since the computer only goes to 60 hz. Text, color and video appear excellent to my eyes and if one is a gamer should be capable of displaying most games. I don't know about the longevity, obviously but I have had to large LG TV sets and they have been very reliable in my past experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I just needed to new monitor for my old MAC mini, and this one was recommended by an audio engineer who is much younger than me and lives in Maryland. I'm also an audio engineer, now 85 years old, living in Hawaii. When it arrived, I was a little surprised by the The "instructions" that came in the box: rather minimal, but I was able to get it properly attached to my old MAC mini and it is working just fine. I thought I'd need the full owner's manual (which I could have ordered) but I just used common sense, and assumed that "PC DP OUT" was a reference to a Windows computer which I don't have. LG sent it without two essential screws! I had to call Canada to get the two screws!

I have Macbook Pro 2019, with USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) ports. Is this monitor compatible with my computer not for gaming but for addtl work screen for Photoshop, Premiere, etc.

Asked by: rochellehedy
The LG 24'' Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor (24'' Diagonal), Model # 24UD58-B does not have Thunderbolt 3 ports or a USB-C port. It features 2 x HDMI 2.o ports and a DisplayPort for connectivity. You can inquire about adapters or conversion cables that you can use to connect the monitor's ports to your USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) ports. The monitor has a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 so check to ensure that the graphics card in your MacBook Pro 2019 supports that resolution...^IFV

Does the 24UD58-B use SST (single-stream transport) or MST (multi-stream transport) or something else?

Asked by: BobP64
In order to achieve 4K resolution at 60Hz, most early 4K displays on the market used Multi-Stream Transport (MST), a technology that stitches two halves of a display together into one large surface — also called a “tile” — in software. MST, can carry a signal for two or more monitors on a single cable, allowing for daisy chaining or hub configurations of multiple 4K monitors. More recent 4K displays like the LG 24'' Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor (24'' Diagonal), Model # 24UD58-B use Single-Stream Transport (SST), eliminating the need for stitching two halves of a display together in software. Instead, SST monitors feature scalers that support 4K resolution at 60 Hz over a single tile. MST can cause issues with in-game menus, BIOS screens, and scaling...^IFV

What is the product lifecycle of 27UD58-B? We are using it with Luggage Scanners for TSA and need to maintain a consistent configuration.

Asked by: idss
The 27UD58-B comes with a 1 year warranty. We do not rate our products on their lifecycle so we would not be able to provide this. This monitor is designed for residential use only.

Can use this monitor with an Apple Mini 2019 ?

Asked by: JonathanC11
I have this monitor connected to a 2018 Mac Mini (the machine you reference). It works okay but the internal graphics card on the Mini (Intel 630) is underpowered and makes the system buggy at resolutions much higher than FullHD (1920x1080). For reference, the Unigine Heaven Benchmark set to Medium comes up with an average Framerate of 2.3fps at 3840x2160 & 13.6fps at 1920x1080. If you want to use this as 4K resolution you'll probably want an external graphics solution. Also, if you want to use a TB3 to DisplayPort cable (or any cable that didn't ship with the monitor) it nags you every time you turn it on to use the cables that came with it.
