What people are saying
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful HDR picture and great response times This monitor came with all the right cables (HDMI and DP), was easy to assemble and get up and running. It has worked flawlessly with the current NVIDIA drivers I'm really enjoying the beautiful 4K picture with great HDR colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfying!! I'm not sure if I have particular needs or not. And I don't know much about these things...but I do very detailed paintings making reference to travel photos that I've taken and the monitor like the on my imac (5k) is terrific for that when I pan in to make reference to specific details on a photo image. To make life easier I decided to get an additional monitor that I'd place in front of my drafting table so I would no longer have to get up while I'm painting and go over to my computer as needed for details (Yeah...I should have done this years ago!) So, I did a lot of inquiring about what kind of monitor would be best for my needs...primarily...not loosing detail when panning in on a photo...and I got all kinds of opinions. Rather than just being confused by them all I finally decided on this LG monitor. Well...it easily mirrors my imac's screen and this monitor is EXACTLY what I needed and does EXACTLY what I hoped it would.

I connected this monitor via HDMI with a mini-diplayport adapter into a Microsoft Surface Dock. I get a warning on screen "caution please use the correct cable". Also, the screen goes on and off and my Surface won't go to sleep via my power options config

My current computer does not have a dp port. Is there any disadvantage connecting the monitor with an hdmi cable instead of a dp? Will I lose any image quality or other features by connecting with an hdmi cable?

Asked by: jp30
The HDMI port is a ubiquitous port that can be found in TVs, Set-Top Boxes, Blu-ray Players, A/V Receivers, gaming consoles, camcorders, digital cameras, and even some smartphones. You’ll also find it in most consumer desktop and laptop computers. No modern all-in-one is complete without an HDMI input that allows you to connect a gaming console or a set-top box to the computer so you can use its display for a second purpose. Both HDMI and DisplayPort can send high-definition digital video and audio from a source device to a display. HDMI can handle a single video stream and a single audio stream, so it can drive only one display at a time. A single DisplayPort interface can support up to four monitors at 1920x1200-pixel resolution each, or two monitors at 2560x1600-pixel resolution, with each display receiving independent audio and video streams. And since some GPUs can support multiple DisplayPort interfaces, you can daisy-chain compatible monitors to connect as many as six displays to one source. HDMI was designed primarily for consumer-electronics applications: Blu-ray players, TVs, video projectors, and the like. Despite the confusing cable specifications, it does things that DisplayPort can’t. Meanwhile, VESA designed DisplayPort to be the ultimate display interface for computers, so it complements rather than replaces HDMI. The question of which port is better is more a question of connectivity...^IFV

Prompt please, whether there is a fundamental difference in this model from the model 27UD69P-W? Are the matrices identical? HDR is achieved by a chip(microprocessor)?Does it make sense to wait for this model or should I look at other models(competitors).
