What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well rounded 4K monitor for general use. I have owned/used this monitor for 4 years and it’s been excellent for its price if a good deal can be found on one. Don’t buy this if you need/want HDR good ergonomics, deep blacks, high refresh rate, or a wide colour gamut such as full P3 or full Adobe RGB colour gamut. Colours appear quite vibrant while retaining detail very well compared to other similar displays I have used. Despite its mediocre contrast ratio, its able to retain dark surprisingly well. The display has some noticeable backlight bleed and some yellow glow which is completely normal, but it hasn’t gotten worse over the years of owning it. There is little jaggedness in lower resolution content. It has decent brightness for indoor use 4K console games look great on this display. Multitasking and doing word, excel, PowerPoint on this display has been good due to the higher resolution and low jaggedness. Video watching is slight weakness for the display due to its mediocre contrast, but the things the monitor does well helps make up for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very detailed monitor The 4 k videos that I play on my monitor are so detailed. I have been playing video games on this monitor and there is no lag and super clear. I am running a mid-range video card. My son stopped over to do his taxes last minute and after he was done he was playing video games on my computer and even he said what a nice monitor. The raw pictures that I edit are so clear on this monitor. the stand is stronger and very straightforward, easy to adjust the height. I would buy this monitor again in a heart beat. Thanks Kevin

I connected this monitor via HDMI with a mini-diplayport adapter into a Microsoft Surface Dock. I get a warning on screen "caution please use the correct cable". Also, the screen goes on and off and my Surface won't go to sleep via my power options config

My current computer does not have a dp port. Is there any disadvantage connecting the monitor with an hdmi cable instead of a dp? Will I lose any image quality or other features by connecting with an hdmi cable?

Asked by: jp30
The HDMI port is a ubiquitous port that can be found in TVs, Set-Top Boxes, Blu-ray Players, A/V Receivers, gaming consoles, camcorders, digital cameras, and even some smartphones. You’ll also find it in most consumer desktop and laptop computers. No modern all-in-one is complete without an HDMI input that allows you to connect a gaming console or a set-top box to the computer so you can use its display for a second purpose. Both HDMI and DisplayPort can send high-definition digital video and audio from a source device to a display. HDMI can handle a single video stream and a single audio stream, so it can drive only one display at a time. A single DisplayPort interface can support up to four monitors at 1920x1200-pixel resolution each, or two monitors at 2560x1600-pixel resolution, with each display receiving independent audio and video streams. And since some GPUs can support multiple DisplayPort interfaces, you can daisy-chain compatible monitors to connect as many as six displays to one source. HDMI was designed primarily for consumer-electronics applications: Blu-ray players, TVs, video projectors, and the like. Despite the confusing cable specifications, it does things that DisplayPort can’t. Meanwhile, VESA designed DisplayPort to be the ultimate display interface for computers, so it complements rather than replaces HDMI. The question of which port is better is more a question of connectivity...^IFV
