What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice compromise between features and price. I've been very pleased with this monitor. It is a great compromise between price and features. Though it lacks some features, such as height adjustment and USB hub functionality, it's picture quality is outstanding. I checked it's color coverage with my xrite and it is exactly as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth while upgrade After being pleased with a couple of new LG TVs, I decided to upgrade my computer monitor to a 27-inch LG from my old but good 20-inch BenQ. The new monitor has great quality, and I am extremely happy with a more screen size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 4k Monitor for the Money I've been using this monitor daily for the past couple of months and I've been super happy with it. Color accuracy and screen quality are top notch for the price. The HDR on the monitor isn't fantastic, but for the price, this monitor is a great deal that does everything I need for my day to day use.

This panel supports HDR. Apparently HDR is not transmitted through DisplayPort 1.2. It is transmitted through HDMI 2.0, but only if it is HDMI 2.0a, not mere HDMI 2.0. This monitor says that it has HDMI 2.0 ports, but are they HDMI 2.0a? How can you tell?

Asked by: Nickisnamed
The first thing to understand is that HDMI Licensing does not allow advertising the version number for the HDMI ports which is why you never see the version number being advertised for the HDMI ports on a TV, monitor, or any other product that uses HDMI ports. Secondly, it's possible that you may never see HDMI 2.0a even written anywhere on specification sheets for products. The change between HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 2.0a has to do exclusively with High Dynamic Range (HDR) content. The actual language from the HDMI Forum, which oversees the specification, in its April 0 press release on HDMI 2.0a stated "The specification has been updated to enable transmission of HDR formats, which provide enhanced picture quality by simultaneously enabling greater detail for both the dark and bright parts of an image. The HDR-related updates include references to CEA-861.3, CEA's recently published update of HDR Static Metadata Extensions." - HDMI Forum, Inc. In essence, the change is just specifications on how to transmit HDR metadata. When you see any monitor like the LG 27'' Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor with HDR 10 (27'' Diagonal), Model # 27UL500-W showing support for HDR10, it is safe to assume that the ports are HDMI 2.0a ports. HDMI 2.0b refinements are the addition of the Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) HDR format which is a different way to transmit HDR content for broadcast signals so it does not apply to monitors...^IFV

How well does this monitor work with Mac OS. Does the screen fit the whole Mac display? Also does it work with an xbox one s?

Asked by: HBJ1
I have this hooked up to a macbook pro 2017 over USB-C to displayPort. Great at 1080p but for some strange reason very blurry text/fonts even with playing around with settings on the monitor and font smoothing from macOS 10.15.6. Setting to SuperResolution:medium helps but I cannot stare at the monitor for a long time as my eyes hurt. Lower resolutions such as 1080p are better but even at 1440p scaled up, I experience a headache/eyestrain. I have the cheaper AOC 27" and that is better at 1440p. Sadness.
