What people are saying

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap I've had this monitor for a little over a year and there is already a defect on the screen. It started in the upper-left side of the screen and has now moved its way to the lower left side and tad bit on the bottom. Whatever the defect, it is a hardware issue (it is a static discoloration that doesn't change). Given that it is a higher-end monitor, one would think it would last a little longer without something like this happening.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Design and 4K HDR10 I bought this monitor for the 4K features with HDR. Have experienced screen tearing on my Xbox One X tho however & it won't play 4K UHD Bluray discs (HDCP 2.2 ) I have a High Speed HDMI cable 2.1 & I'm also having issues with steaming 4K to this monitor using Disney +, and VUDU. Wish they made a 32" LG ki OLED Monitor with 1ms response time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful screen I bought this a few days ago brand new and it's the best monitor I've ever had. The picture quality is amazing, I'm fine with 60hz so that doesn't bother me. It's a very large size and gives me plenty of screen space. I plan to buy a second one.

I have owned this monitor since it was first released and love it. My one gripe is that volume control via my MacBook is not supported with the current firmware. Is there a plan to add this much needed feature?

Does it monitor support brightness adjust on macbook's keyboard?

Asked by: RyanYK
Adjusting the brightness for a monitor on a MacBook's keyboard is a function that only works on Apple displays and on our LG UltraFine displays. It will not work on the LG 32" Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor with HDR10 (31.5" Diagonal), Model # 32UD99-W...^IFV

The only thing I can't get right is when using bootcamp on my Macbook pro 2017 with Win10, play Battlefield 1 using HDR - its enabled in the game but the monitor does not detect it. I'm using a USB-C connection between my monitor and the laptop.

Recommendation - Allow volume control inputs from Macbook to set the volume on in-monitor speakers (32UD99-W) vs. having to use the joystick. Since the 5ks have no joystick it is allowed there, could this be patched to these monitors as well? Thanks!

Asked by: Alulim
Hi Alulim. Thank you for your suggestion. Regrettably, allowing the volume control inputs from Macbook pro to set the volume for the built-in speakers on the LG 32" Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor with HDR10 (31.5" Diagonal), Model # 32UD99-W would require a hardware update and they cannot be patched to this monitor as it has already been released...^IFV

I am using a high speed HDMI cable with ethernet to connect my 2015 Macbook Pro to the display. When I try to view Amazon Prime, I get the error message that my computer, cable or display does not meet HDCP requirements. Any thoughts on why?

Asked by: trialcritic
Hello, what it means is that the HDMI port(s) on the MacBook Pro is not HDCP 2.2 compliant. For streaming 4K movies or content from game consoles, Ultra HD Blu-ray disc players, or any device connected to the monitor, everything in the chain must be HDCP 2.2 compliant otherwise the signal does not get passed. The HDMI ports and the DisplayPort on the monitor are all HDCP 2.2 compliant. You should not have any issue 1080p content. You just will not get 4K if the HDMI port(s) on your MacBook Pro are not HDCP 2.2 compliant. ^AC

Can I daisy chain two of these displays?

Asked by: austincondiff
Hi Austincondiff. The LG 32" Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor with HDR10 (31.5" Diagonal), Model # 32UD99-W does not have a DisplayPort Output so you cannot daisy chain it. You cannot daisy chain USB devices connected via USB-C, although you can simulate daisy chaining with the addition of USB-C-connected hubs. HDMI does not support daisy chaining, but all the ports on the 32UD99-W are inputs...^IFV
