LG Electronics Celebrates the Magic of The Met with “Beyond the Gallery” Event

LG invites design centric influencers and press to experience the thoughtfully crafted Gallery TV with Frame and LG Gallery+ platform

News Summary:

  1. LG Electronics hosted an exclusive reception, Beyond the Gallery, to herald the arrival of more than 100+ selected artworks from The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) on LG Gallery+.
  2. The Beyond the Gallery event brought together VIP guests to discuss how technology like the LG Gallery TV with Frame can elevate your device as wall art.
  3. The collaboration reflects LG and The Met’s shared goal of creating more ways for audiences to engage with art beyond the Museum and incorporate it into everyday life.

NEW YORK, NY, October 22, 2026 — LG Electronics hosted their first ever Beyond the Gallery event celebrating the arrival of 100+ works of art from The Met collection on the LG Gallery+ service. Drawing on the Museum’s vast holdings, which spans 5,000 years of art from around the world, LG Gallery+ allows users to select their favorite works to display and enjoy on their TVs at home.

In honor of the launch, LG hosted an exclusive celebration yesterday at Caviar Kaspia at the Mark Hotel in New York City. The Beyond the Gallery program opened with remarks from Alvin Wayne, an esteemed New York City-based interior designer and host of the Beyond the Gallery event, and Josh Romm, Head of Global Licensing and Partnerships at The Met.

“When I visit The Met, singular works like Untitled (Cracked Watermelon) by Charles Ethan Porter stand out to me. Porter was among the first Black American artists of his time to exhibit his work nationally and the only one to specialize in still-life’s. What was especially exciting about the Beyond the Gallery event was seeing how works of art like Porter’s will now be reimagined in living rooms around the world with the LG Gallery TV with Frame and Gallery +service,” said Alvin Wayne.

“Encouraging creativity and self-expression are central to The Met’s mission. Our collaboration with LG allows people to make a personal statement on their love of art, design, and culture through technology – changing the works that they display based on the season or their mood” said Josh Romm, Head of Global Licensing & Partnerships at The Met.

“LG builds beautiful technology that lives naturally in the home, rather than demanding your attention. With works of art from The Met collection now on LG Gallery +, we have created something that you’ll want to live with for years to come,” said Matthew Durgin, VP of Content and Services at LG Electronics.

The LG Gallery TV with Frame combines advanced display technology with a gallery-inspired design that complements modern interiors and becomes a showcase for art when not in use for entertainment. Through LG Gallery+, users can personalize the screen with artwork, personal photos or AI-generated images.

With an ultra-slim, flush-to-wall design and customizable, interchangeable magnetic frames2, the Gallery TV with Frame is made to complement the home. Its Gallery Mode and Matte Display capture the texture of original masterpieces with clarity and minimal glare. Beneath its artful exterior, the TV delivers Mini LED picture quality and immersive audio powered by LG’s α7 AI Processor.
