This is our second refrigerator, the first one (same brand and same model #.) died within two months of delivery. We have had 8 repair calls in 5 years. It was good that we bought the HD warranty plan. This year we have had to call 3 repair calls. The last repair call required the circuit board, compressor, drier unit all to be replaced. After all that, the refrigerator still doesn't work. HD says the warranty has expired but are nice enough to keep working on it. However, the fridge has been dead for past two months. I say do not buy any LG appliances. They suck. I was told that fridges now are made to only last 5 years almost like a cell phone. Then why do they cost so much? Frustration is all I get from purchasing this appliance!!!

It keeps thawing out every so often causing me to throw away lots of groceries. For the money we pay brand new these refridgerators should last longer than 6 years without problems.

My only drawback is I changed the water filter but now the change water filter flashing light does not extinguish after holding the light for 3 seconds. It does not tell me what to do next. Other than that I am extremely pleased with the refrigerator.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the fridge. Hate a few small things. The fridge has been great. There is almost zero noise. It’s roomy and we rarely have any problems. The only issues are the water dispenser placement and the mold that starts on the sealing surfaces. The water dispenser is not in the normal place like most refrigerators, so almost every guest has made a small puddle on the floor trying to use it. Mold builds up on the sealing gaskets for some reason.

The entire sealed system needs to be replaced and I am without a refridgerator for a minimum of two weeks due to shipping time and extremely limited authorized service people. Something this expensive should last MUCH longer than 5 years.

The freezer temperature is reading -16C on the display. However, the lower compartment of the freezer is not keeping items frozen. How do I troubleshoot the problem? The unit is only 4 years old.

What does er 1f mean

Hello, the IF error code indicates that the refrigerator has detected a problem with the refrigerator's ice maker fan. This can sometimes occur when frost or ice buildup occurs around the ice maker fan. This will require service, to set that up you can call in to 1-800-243-0000 or go to: https://www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/find-repair-provider ^AC

Ice will not dispense from the ice tray and water is not filling up the entire tray only filling the trays closest to door opening. Makes a horrible clicking sound when the tray rotates to empty tray

What temperature is freezer suppose to be set at

The default temperature settings for this unit would be 37 for the fresh food section and 0 for the freezer. If you wish to have an increase in ice production the optimal freezer setting for maximum ice production would be -4. The temperature in the refrigerator/freezer will fluctuate when the doors are opened and closed. Once the unit recognizes the temperature has increased beyond the desired setting, the compressor and fans will turn on to lower the temperature back to the desired settings.
