What people are saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I didn’t test for bottles This fridge is great! Freezer sections perfect. Keeps things cool/frozen as expected. Absolutely love the inside water dispenser. Having the ice in a drawer vs the door was an adjustment but it all worked out. While I am aware the shelves are adjustable they aren’t that adjustable unless I just am having a moment of confusion. Either way can’t fit bottled beverages (beer or soft drinks) on any shelf. They aren’t tall enough. And if I drop on down some I end up with like 4” on the next shelf. That is literally my only complaint. If I figure it out and it’s a non issue I’ll update my review. It is a little noisy when it kicks on or fills the water but not a deal breaker. I only hear it when I’m in the kitchen and it’s silent in the house. But other than that love this fridge so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good overall. Only complaint is taste of water. Changed filters; did the empty routine; still has a plastic taste to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Design and Function I purchased this French door with dual freezer bins design after my 15 year old side-by-side refrigerator/freezer failed. Although I would have preferred water and Ice in the door, this model provides a simpler approach of ice in the drawer and cool water inside the left door. The refrigerator is very quiet and has greater electric efficiency than the model it replaced.

For the LFCC235965S door in door Refrigerator are there any cooling problems in the right door section. Is the glass section less insulating than the metal side? Can new ice discharge when the freezer door is open missing the ice bin?

Asked by: Eddie51
Which glass section and metal side of the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 23 cu. ft. InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Counter-Depth Refrigerator, Model # LFCC23596S are you referring to? There are no known cooling issues in the "right door section". If the InstaView™ Door-in-Door® is what you are referring to as the "glass section", glass is a great insulator. LG's exclusive InstaView® Door-in-Door® design lets you see inside without opening the door—simply knock twice to see and then reach favorites in an instant. That prevents the cool air from escaping as it would when the door is open so the refrigerator maintains an even temperature. As a result, your compressor which consumes the most electricity in the refrigerator, will not turn on as frequently to maintain the set temperature saving you energy & money on your bills. The freezer ice maker is not located in the door of the freezer compartment so opening the door does not affect the ice maker from discharging ice into the ice storage bin...^Ivan

For the LMWC23626S Refrigerator: Are there problems with frost and cooling in the lower freezer door section? Also, will the ice maker discharge new ice with the freezer door(s) open so it could go  to the bottom of the freezer vs into the ice bin?

Asked by: Eddie51
We are not aware of any reported issues with frosting and cooling in the lower freezer door section of the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 23 cu. ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator, Model # LMWC23626S. The automatic freezer ice maker for this refrigerator is located directly above the ice bin so any ice that is produced will be stored in the ice bin. The ice maker produces 12 cubes at a time, 50-110 pieces within a 24-hour period if conditions are favorable. This amount may vary according to the environment (ambient temperature around the appliance, frequency of the door being opened, amount of food stored in the appliance, etc.)...^Ivan

We're very interested in this refrigerator, but our opening is exactly 33". Are we really ok with just 1/8" on either side? Thanks.

Asked by: bss37
The recommended 1/8" installation clearance for the sides that is listed in the specifications for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 23 cu. ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator, Model # LMWC23626S is the minimum clearance that the refrigerator has been tested for that will give it enough space for a natural airflow around the refrigerator so it cools efficiently...^Ivan

What gauge stainless is used on the door faces of the LMWC23626S

Asked by: Gus777
Appliance stainless steel handle manufacturers typically use just four of these many options: 304, 439, 441, and 201 grade stainless. The vast majority of major appliances are made of 304 (austenitic) type stainless steel or 430 (ferritic) stainless steel. Regrettably, LG does not divulge information for the grade of stainless steel that is used for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 23 cu. ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator, Model # LMWC23626S...^Ivan

I've was not home when this was installed. There appears to be a film over the entire outside except slim strips by the handles. I can start to peel the film off like removing a piece of scotch tape. Is this supposed to be removed?

Asked by: DMarie38
Yes, it is just a protective covering.

Is the water in the ice maker filtered (is it the same filter as the water dispenser)? The water dispenser tastes good, my tap water tastes good, but the ice tastes and smells terrible (like plastic), despite my having disposed of more than 5 bucketsful.

Asked by: MTH3
Yes, the water for the icemaker is filtered using the same filter for the dispenser. Brand new 4 days ago.  Refrigerator section has inconsistent temp with various sections.  5-7 degree difference.  Freezer works great.  At lowest setting of 33 deg, some ares do not get below 39 deg.  Big swings in lowest temps.  Fix?

Asked by: Help New Fridge
The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 23 cu. ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator, Model # LMWC23626S features a Multi-Air Flow™ System that maintains optimal humidity and temperature levels so your food stays fresher for longer. Digital sensors constantly monitor conditions within the refrigerator to keep things cool. And strategically placed vents surround your food with cool air no matter where you put it. If you are having inconsistent temperatures throughout the refrigerator compartment, check to make sure that you are not blocking the strategically placed vents in the back of the refrigerator. Blocked vents may prevent airflow and cause uneven circulation of the cool air. The cool air circulates from top to bottom with the coldest spots being in the back near the vents. It is recommended that you avoid putting sensitive food items such as yogurt, eggs, and vegetables in these areas because they may freeze. Instead, place sensitive food items closer to the front on a lower shelf or in one of the crisper bins...^Ivan
