is this model frost free? does it come in slightly bigger option?

Asked by: Theonia
You will need to defrost the freezer in the LG 5.8 cu. ft. Single Door Freezer, Model # LROFC0605V by turning the temperature control dial to the OFF (O) setting. Make sure that the drip tray is properly installed so water will collect in the tray. Once a month, unplug the power cord and allow the entire freezer to defrost. For faster defrosting, place 1 or 2 pans filled with warm water inside the freezer. Once finished defrosting, remember to reset the temperature control dial to its original setting, and remove and empty the drip tray, dry it off, and reassemble it. The LROFC0605V is not available in a larger capacity, but you can review the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 6.9 cu. ft. Can I use it in a Garage in Texas weather? Does it cause tripping of GF plugs?

Asked by: ICQC
What is the temperature in your garage and is it unheated or insulated? The LG 5.8 cu. ft. Single Door Freezer, Model # LROFC0605V has to be installed in an area where the temperature is between 55 °F (13 °C) and 110 °F (43 °C). If the temperature around the appliance is too low or high, cooling ability may be adversely affected. This unit is not a Garage Refrigerator and like most refrigerators, it will stop working at some point during the winter months in an unheated garage, depending on climate and how well the garage is insulated. It cannot be in an area where the temperature is below 50°F. You will also want to consider the cost of keeping a second fridge running year-round in your garage. The fridge will have to work extra hard in summer and winter to keep your food at the right temperature, and this consumes more power...^IFV

Is it normal freestanding freezer? If so, why this model is in specialty refrigerator? What is the available temperature range? Is it possible to keep the groceries without freezing? Can I keep Kimchi in this model?

Asked by: Eric Choi
As indicated in the title, the LG 5.8 cu. ft. Single Door Freezer Refrigerator, Model # LROFC0605V is a normal freestanding freezer refrigerator and is offered as an alternative to a cold chest freezer. The freezer temperature changes depending on how much food is stored inside, the length and frequency of door openings, and the surrounding temperature. You can adjust the temperature control dial to keep food at the desired temperature. The settings for the temperature control dial are OFF (O): No Cooling, MIN: Warmest Temperature, MID: Recommended temperature for freezer (F) area, and MAX: Coldest temperature. This Freezer Refrigerator can be used for both freezing and "soft freezing" food. Choose the proper storage location and temperature control setting for the desired results. The top shelf, and door bins are used for soft freezing, and the main shelves for freezing. It is not a Kimchi/Specialty Food French Door Refrigerator that features a unique lactic acid option that automatically adjusts temperatures to enhance and increase the production of lactic acid bacteria that are key to fermented foods...^IFV
