What people are saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stunning picture Bought this a bit over a month ago and very satisfied with the picture. I would recommend supplementing sound with an A/V receiver since the speakers are not the loudest but that's quibbling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, overall great TV This is my first modern TV that I've purchased that doesn't have a giant tube in it ;) So for those of you just starting out with a new TV, I highly recommend it. Sounds silly, but TV was not something I put a high priority on in my life, and the one I had worked great for 20 years - hard to believe, right? Anyway, I'm a very happy LG customer (have been buying their phones for years) and so it seemed natural to get TV from them, too. This is in my small studio apartment which is all hard floors throughout (no carpet) and does a fabulous job or providing a very sharp and clear picture (even though I've got the backlight turned WAY down) and the sound is pretty good, although it's probably not the ideal TV for you if you like to watch a lot of concerts or your fave music channels - the sound is sufficient - loud and clear but it carries and can go flat. For people picky about sound, I suppose the TV would sound much better in a room like a bedroom where there is soft surfaces like carpet and drapers, with walls closer around the TV, vs. a wide open space, like my studio. Anyway, really no complaint on the sound from me, it's just not a super hi-fidelity stereo TV. You could certainly add on audio components like speakers, etc. but it is great for what it is. The TV was shipped to me in a very smart and lightweight box with handles on each side, an older child would have no problems carrying it. I was able to set up the TV very easily right out of the box, and once plugged in, the on-screen guide to get started was also very simple, though I'm a highly technical person, so this may be different for someone else. I purchased my own HDMI cable separately, and since I am not a cable or satellite TV subscriber, I was going to be using my Netflix and Hulu services with this for movies and TV programs, so I also purchased and added a Roku 3 (2014 version) to this TV and it all works pretty slick. DVD needs its own HDMI cable, though, if you want to play DVDs in HD (I tried it without one, and it is OK but not high-definition). You could get an HDMI switcher for that (I have one, but rarely watch DVDs since I "cut the cord", I have access to pretty much any TV show or movie I want). Very happy so far (bought in June 2015 through Amazon - I believe the seller was Sams/Walmart—at least that is where it shipped from, and I did not know it til I saw the shipping label on arrival—I don't really care to shop at Walmart). Hope this review helps someone - I know I read a LOT of them when I was trying to choose my first TV and it can be nerve-racking to buy something like this online, but feel good about the purchase when you haven't seen the physical product. I think I got a great deal with this purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problems with brightness of picture and Volume I have had this TV for several months. The volume has to be turned almost to the max. The picture is not as bright as I think it should be. Is there any way to fix these problems?

My speakers are terrible can I hook up a sound bar?

Asked by: Sreid
According to the specifications, the unit does not have an audio out and therefor it would not be possible from the TV but it could be if you are using a cable or satellite box. ^AC

able to transmit to TV via PC

I have tried both ways to get PC to transmit video to TV and both have failed. I used the RBG-PC hookup from my computer (Macbook) to the TV with the sound cable from PC to back of TV and got not response. Moved input to RBG-PC on TV remote and still not input. Then tried the HDMI mode using a HD cable with extension from PC to the back of the TV and still no picture!! I am terribly frustrated. When I put the TV remote input on and select HDMI I get nothing....when I select RBG-PC I get nothing!! I am using a cable box for cable TV but don't think this has anything to do with this problem....PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!!!!!
