Rated 1 out of 5 by from OK TV. Worthless otherwise. I bought this smart TV thinking it would be convenient to be able to access the internet with the TV. I have a laptop and desktop for 'real' computer stuff and I wasn't expecting this TV to supplant those. Initially I had to connect to my cable via ethernet because the instructions on the TV and online for a wireless connection were so opaque. Once I got it set up it works fine as a TV and it streams video via my wireless router with no problem -- once I get to the web site, The browser is excruciatingly slow and crashes frequently (at least once an hour). I cannot install any other browser (such as Firefox or Chrome) so I cannot watch Amazon videos (although Netflix plays OK on the native interface). Some web sites simply cannot be loaded (CNN, Chive). If you have more than one tab open it will likely crash when you try to switch between the tabs. You cannot mark/cut/paste to access a URL that is not hyperlinked. It will occasionally tell me that it does not have enough memory to load a website or video, and clearing the cache does nothing; the only fix is to reset everything to the default settings. In doing so you lose your bookmarks and all of your saved logins. As a browser, it performs more like dial-up than broadband. As a TV it's as good as anything else, but don't waste your money by paying the premium for the 'smart' capability - it's not worth it.

The TV legs of our TV have snapped, and we want to get new ones for this specific TV. How may I purchase those? Does LG sell them separately? The TV works fine, we just need new stands.

That doesn't sound right. Please drop us a line on Twitter at @LGUSSupport or on Facebook at when you are with the unit. ^AC

What is the input lag of this tv, measured in "ms" please

Asked by: TallJack
HI TallJack. Regrettably, our specifications do not list an input lag for the LG Full HD 1080p Smart LED TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # 55LJ5500. Input Lag is not an official TV specification because it depends on two varying factors; the type of source and the settings on the TV. It will vary according to what you have connected to the TV. There are different methods that are used to measure the Input Lag and they will have varying results. One of the most widely used methods that you will find on online sites that test for input lag is the Leo Bodnar Input Lag Test method which has lists the input lag for this TV as 27.2 ms for 1080p @ 60 Hz in Game Mode...^IFV

Hello, the LG LJ550v i can use any of magic remote control??

Asked by: Aljeseerawi
The LJ550V series TVs are not TV models that were released in the U.S. and you will need to contact our Support Center in the country in which the TV was purchased to inquire if it is compatible with LG Magic Remotes. The "L" in the series number you have given indicates that it is an LED TV and the "J" indicates that it is a 2017 model. In the U.S., none of the 2017 LED TVs were compatible with the LG Magic Remotes. The Support Representatives in your region will be able to verify if this TV is or is not compatible with an LG Magic Remote...^IFV

Does this device support 265 h????

Asked by: rame
The LG Full HD 1080p Smart LED TV - 43" Class (42.5" Diag), Model # 43LJ5500 is not a 4K TV. H.265 or High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is the successor to Advanced Video Coding (AVC), also known as H.264 and it offers the same level of picture as AVC but with better compression so there's less data to deal with which is key for better 4K/Ultra HD broadcasts (including satellite), 4K Blu-rays, and more. Along with HDCP 2.2, video compression technology is another crucial internal spec of 4K UHD TV connectivity. The majority of today’s 4K UHD content from streaming sources, 4K Blu-ray players and other devices is compressed via HEVC in the form of its 4K-oriented H.265 version for maximum transmission efficiency. In order to playback HEVC compressed content, a 4K TV will need to have HEVC compatibility. Pretty much every 4K TV on today’s market comes with HEVC built into it and thus has no problem decoding content from the vast majority of consumer market ultra HD content sources, like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Vudu, Ultraflix, 4K Blu-ray and other media sources...^IFV
