Just unboxed this tv and first thing that I noticed while watching Point Break was the fast action scenes were jumpy, laggy. If there’s no fix I’ll have no choice but to take it back.

How does this TV look on standard definition cable “Comcast”, as I currently have a LG 720p 32”. Will it look similar, or be pixelated like I see with cheaper TVs models? Otherwise I watch DVD and 1080i OTA.

Asked by: Rick40
The LG 43 Inch Class 4K HDR Smart LED TV (42.5'' Diag), Model # 43UM6950DUB has a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 (i.e. 4K) and like any other TV, it will play video content it is presented with at or near to its native resolution. When presented with video content with a lower resolution than the TV's native resolution, the built-in 4K Upscaler in the TV will upconvert that video signal to the TV's native resolution or as close as it can get that signal depending on how much data it has to work with contained within that signal. CBS and NBC chose 1080i, Fox and ABC and ESPN are all 720p, PBS is mostly 1080i but not all of it and the cable channels are all over the map with cable channels like HBO.SHOW, History, the Discovery network channels, Velocity, CNN and so on at 1080i while Fox news, Disney/ABC/ESPN co. network, channels are 720p. ESPN chooses 720p (aka poor man’s HD) since that format generally uses less bandwidth and in general, is better for fast sports action. 1080i is also generally better for higher resolution pictures and better color depth...^IFV
