Randomly one day the display completely stopped working, and after only some light research I found that I was not near alone with this issue and that the problem was permanent. Thanks LG! My LG 55LN5600-UI says it works with 100v to 240v! Does this mean i can use in the Philippines?

There are some things that you need to take note of with regards to the LG 55" Class (54.6" Diagonal) 1080p Smart LED TV, Model # 55LN5600. The TV is a dual voltage TV rated at 100 - 240 V ~ 50/60 Hz, so it will work with the 220 voltage used in the Philippines. The Philippines also use the same sockets, Type A and Type B that are used in the U.S. that the plug on the TV will fit into. This TV has three built-in tuners, an ATSC tuner, an NTSC tuner and a QAM tuner. The Philippines had been using the American NTSC standard for analog television, but their National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) announced in June 2010 that the Philippines would use the Japanese ISDB-T standard for digital television which is not compatible with the American ATSC standard used for digital television. IF the Philippines is still using the NTSC standard for analog, you might be able to get analog broadcasts, but you will not be able to get digital television broadcasts...^IFV
