What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Picture When our last big screen television failed, I was convinced I wanted an LED backlit HD television. I purchased a 60" LED HD TV and brought it home. After watching a couple of movies, I kept noticing that movies had a cartoonish or soap opera hue to the colors. Super saturated and the motion was non-fluid. I exchanged for this LG Plasma HD TV and was blown away by the superior color, contrast, and motion reproduction for movies. I far prefer Plasma to LCD/LED image quality. This TV is a great value for a large HD television.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality and value ! LG Model # 60PA655 60 inch Plasma, purchased at Sam's, June 2013. A great performing TV - vivid colors with deep black background. Good features - quality of build excellent and it was a good value. Found sound not great but adequate and I left as is. Would buy again and would recommend to anyone else. I know a person who is in the TV industry and prior to purchasing this unit he told me the LG Plasmas were excellent quality and a good value. He was right !

My tv 50" Lg all of sudden won't turn on ????? Is there a way to reset

Asked by: Eotanes
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television. The only manner of reset available to this TV, when it is not operating, would be to unplug the system for about 45 seconds, and then testing it again. If this does not resolve the matter, then the TV will likely require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

Audio, no video

TV less than two years old. Not one issue. Today we hooked up a laptop through the RGB input for the first time ever. Worked fine. Disconnected. Went to turn on the TV later, and there is no video at all. I toggled blindly through the inputs and got it back to Cable TV and could get audio, but no video. To be clear, there is no video even when hitting the input button (directly on the TV). Tried unplugging TV for more than a minute hoping to "reset" but still no video. Any ideas?

how to use menu to turn off tv speakers to have digital optical audio as sole audio

we are unable to find a menu option to turn the tv speakers off. Is there some way to do this other than by muting the volume? TV is model #60PA6550
Asked by: Richard739
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television. According to pages 65 and 66 of the owner’s manual, the AUDIO menu has the needed settings. The last options on the AUDIO menu are the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT and the TV SPEAKER options.

Digital Optical pass through

I connected an optical cable from the TV's digital optical out - to my surround sound receiver to produce 5.1 Dolby digital and DTS. It is only producing the basic 2.1 Dolby pro logic... I thought this was a pass through so my receiver would do all the work regarding digital surround sound. If this TV doesn't work like that... then why say digital optical pass through... why not just regular standard RCA audio connections?
Asked by: streihaft
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this television. According to the owner’s manual, this TV does not support a DTS Audio Codec.
