What People Are Saying

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by All we expected, except the 3D glasses Easy to set up and use, so user friendly, great picture, intuitive remote, Love it, Love it, Love it!!! July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Picture I love this TV!!! Amazing picture,3-D is awesome and streaming video(Smart Features) make this a great value for a home entertainment system. July 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best picture This is the best TV I have ever viewed! All the setup was simple. The help videos make everything easier to use and explain things in depth and in order. LG keeps in touch and always teaches me more with the E-mails I get. I sometimes have to beat my grandsons off when they have the xbox360 hooked up and I can't watch the tv. This is a perfect match for directv. I don't believe I could find anything bad to say about this TV, except that it spoils me when I have to watch one of my older sets. I love the quality of picture that i getfrom it. July 15, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by NOT for gaming Purchased this TV specifically because it is the only new plasma being made anymore and I wanted a plasma for gaming because my LED wasn't cutting it. First and foremost: this TV is HORRIBLE if you're gaming. With all four of my systems (Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, Wii). The colors and brightness are good. Clipping is so horrible that it goes beyond "clipping" and can actually be called "jerking". The motion blur is so bad it looks like it's running at 15hz. I don't know how a 600hz plasma manages to have so much motion blur! I can't see anything while moving in game! If you're only buying this TV because it is a cheap 60" and you want to watch movies, it's perfect. But don't expect to be able to use it for any gaming applications whatsoever. I will be returning it as soon as possible. June 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by love this tv This tv has a great picture 3d and can connect to the internet June 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent television 60 inches looks much bigger in my family room than in the store, but I'm glad we chose this model. Picture quality is more realistic than comparable LED sets. The TV was surprisingly easy to set up, connect to my home network and begin using immediately. Some online reviews mention how prone this TV is to glare from room lights, and that's true. We're adjusting to watching TV with most of the lights out, a la movie theater, but that's not always practical. I'm particularly enjoying Cardinals baseball, but with the "Sport" picture mode disabled. Otherwise the enhanced colors make it look like baseball in Oz. May 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceptional Picture Use of HDMI connection provides a spectacular real life look on the screen. The variety of screen settings allow for several unique viewing experiences. Wired network connectivity is superb. I am very pleased! May 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing TV Exceptional picture, especially for the price. Smart TV is also easy to navigate. April 18, 2014

A few concerns...how long will this TV last...does the TV have the "burn in" image over time...main reason for selecting this TV is to watch 3D MOVIES in our Movie Room...is the 3D clarity more impressive then a LED 120hz or 240hz?

Thanks in advance for any feedback about this Plasma TV

Answer:
You should not have issues with burn in. There are great articles on how new Plasmas have implemented measures against this. You could at time experience "ghosting" ( where the image stays for 1-2 seconds afterward like a temporary burnin effect) but only if you have it on vibrant setting. Just FYI this TV doesn't use LG's famed passive 3D as they show all LG's in bestbuy stores. This uses Active 3D where you have to wear glasses that jutter really quickly to create a 3D look.

Answer:
Coley,
WE appreciate you contacting us with regards to the LG - 60" Class (59-7/8" Diag.) - Plasma - 600Hz - Smart - 3D - HDTV Model # 60PB6900. How long a TV lasts really depends on several factors like how much TV viewing you do on average, do you have a line conditioner or surge protector that the TV is plugged into, and the quality and condition of the electrical source in your building. There is no reason that a Plasma TV shouldn't last you at least 10 years if not more. Yes Plasma TVs have always been demonized for burn in, but truth be told, all TVs are susceptible to burn in! Sure it can happen more easily on a Plasma TV but only if you leave a static image on it for over 2 hours! For example, if you're playing games on a Plasma TV, while all the action is centered in the foreground, you might have a static background which could burn in after hours of playing, but running a moving image should you get burn in and it's not too severe will wash it out. Most plasma have built-in ways to wash out the burn in these days.
As far as the picture, your Plasma TV is the best picture you can get that is of movie quality. For fast action movies or sporting events, you cannot get better than a plasma TV. All Plasma TVs have a sub field motion of 600Hz, the best that an LED can do is 240Hz! Although the black levels on an LED are much improved over those of the CCFL LCDs, the black levels on a plasma are far superior making for better and more vivid colors. Then comparing prices, Plasma TVs are more attractively priced. It really comes down to personal tastes and preferences, but head to head on watching movies in a light controlled environment with little or no ambient light streaming in, the Plasma TV is the better TV for movies period!...IFV

Answer:
Hi Erik,
Thank you for your interest in the LG - 60" Class (59-7/8" Diag.) - Plasma - 600Hz - Smart - 3D - HDTV, Model # 60PB6900. What other 3D Glasses would work better for an LG 3D TV than LG's own 3d Glasses? You can get a party pack, AG-F315, that comes with 4 differently colored glasses and if you want to get some for the kids, there are glasses for them too, AG-F330, with a clear frame. Best Buy should have them in store, if not, they have them online and you can still get them from the LG site http://www.lg.com/us/tv-accessories/lg-AG-F315.
LG uses passive 3D so technically, any passive 3D glasses should work!...IFV
