Rated 5 out of 5 by from HomBot is Awesome! I am absolutely amazed at how quiet the HomBot is. It cleans as if it should be extremely loud because it cleans better than uprights!!! Its absolutely Awesome!!! Sure I had to make some throw rug changes. However, so worth it. Furthermore, The battery holds a good 4 hour of continuous vacuuming. Then recharges in about 2 hours. Believe me, 4 hours of continuous vacuuming from the Hombot and we're talking immaculate! Finally, the remote control has a quick spiral spot mode that is exceptional. HOMBOT IS AWESOME!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Move over Wall-E There's a new Robot in Town! The LG HomBot 1.0 is LG's 1st attempt at robotic vacuum cleaners, and boy did they get it right. As a long time fan and owner of a Roomba Robotic Vacuum I was truly skeptical when my husband brought this home. My original Roomba 560 had finally started to have some trouble after 6 years and my husband thought it was time for an upgrade. The LG Hombot 1.0 Vs The Roomba 560 1: Unlike the Roomba The Lg is SUPER Quiet! So silent that once you turn it on you will not notice it's vacuuming unless it announces itself docking or something too large has become stuck. 2: The LG Comes with a Remote control which allows you to start the robot, do spot cleaning, specific zig zag or cell by cell, to set the timer and more. 3: The LG Comes with a removable dust bin with replaceable and washable filters similar to the Roomba's aerovac upgrade kit but without spending the extra money. 4: The Hombot 1.0 uses an infrared sensor to map out the room and avoid bumping into walls and furniture etc. The Roomba often seems to need to bump into something first before noticing it's there or scooting along the side of it not avoiding it at all. 5: The LG requires 3 hours to fully charge and will run for 90 minutes, unless you have a Roomba with a brand new battery even if fully charged you will be lucky to get 30-45 minutes out of it. 6: The Roomba has one spinning circular brush the LG has 2, however the Roomba's accessories seem to have stronger bristles and tend not to bend as easily. 7: Price... Roomba wins hands down. Essentially The LG Hombot 1.0 is truly a competitor for Roomba's 560 model, in which case it wins hands down, but both companies have come out with newer models since then the Roomba 780 and the LG Hombot 3.0. In the end you can get a top model Roomba 780 for the same price as a Hombot 1.0, and if you wanted the fancier model LG it would cost you 200$ more. Final Verdict... LG. In the end LG truly makes a more sophisticated robot, that no longer requires "Virtual Walls" and accessories to help get the job done. So If you're looking for a Robot to Clean your Floors look no further.

How is it with pet hair?

I have 3 Labrador Retrievers and our teak floors show every hair! How does the Hom-Bot Robot Vacuum do with pet hair? When it is full, does it just stop moving?
Asked by: Loraine
Yes, the unit would let you know when it needs to be emptied. For lots of pet hair a very frequent schedule can help make the Hom-Bot keep up :)

I need to know the hose length

I use a hose connected to our upright for cleaning the steps. You posted a 10.7 foot "reach" for attachments. I suspect that means 4 feet or so for the handle. If the length of the hose is less than 10 or 15 feet, how to you clean stairs?
Asked by: Gordon
this is a robot vac and does not clean stairs only flat surfaces.
