What people are saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Long Wash Cycles It looks like there is a way to download custom cycles? Does anyone know how to program the machine to get a good wash that finishes within ~45 minutes?
Date published: 2020-01-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality resonates throughout Bought this washer last week with high expectations given my history with a previous LG appliance. However, quality is sacrificed in this new model. First, the door does not fit snug when closed, and even though it locks during operation, there's still quite a bit of "play" in it. However, this is trivial compared to the vibration problem I'm experiencing. Contrary to LG's prominent claim of "TrueBalance" technology - which was a leading factor in my decision to purchase this unit - the washer shakes excessively during the peak spin cycle. To demonstrate, I placed a unopened gallon of liquid detergent atop the machine and it scooted completely off the edge during a spin cycle under the "normal" wash cycle, the tub about half loaded with light cotton undershirts and gym attire. The first defensive mechanism by the manufacturer will likely be to cite human error, claim the unit is not properly grounded and balanced, or that the tub was loaded improperly or excessively, but neither is accurate. In fact, I followed LG's diagnostic process precisely, to no avail. The washer is properly balanced (front-to-back and side-to-side) evidenced by a level, and it passes the "shake test" and the "rocking test" on all four corners. Yes, the shipping bolts are removed as were the other shipping materials. There's no stray tools or other items near it that can contribute to a problem. The washer rests solidly on a slate tile floor on the first level of my concrete slab home. All boxes checked...still a vibration issue, nothing near what I experienced on my 10-year old LG front loader (WM2688HMN). So now I have to spend additional dollars - albeit an immaterial $25 - for "anti vibration" pads to alleviate my problem. The cost is not the aggravation but the installation will be - the unit is close to 200 pounds and I need to move my dryer out of the way to get to it, and have someone tilt it front and back while another places the pads under the legs. Not quite what I would expect for a brand new machine. And it's quite a shame because Consumer Reports highly rates the LG's.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good at washing. Forget about WiFi Have had ours for about a year. Does a good job cleaning. Initially, I figured out how to add the Smart Thinq app. Something changed in the past few months and now it is disconnected. LG doesn't have anything on how to get it working again. Bummer. I've spent over 15minutes looking on this site. Stay away if you expect to use your phone to monitor.

I have had a front load LG for about 12yrs. It has really been a work horse but I need to replace it. It has a Wool feature which I use a lot. The new ones don't seem to have this feature. Can I was them using another cycle?

Asked by: Becky 1769
Hello Becky. You are correct. The new washing machines do not have a wool setting. Wool garments should be washed on the wool setting (usually gentle action at 40°C). Since the new ones do not have a wool setting, you can use the cold water wash or wash cycle for delicates. Use a neutral, mild detergent that is preferably Woolmark recommended (look for the Woolmark symbol on the packet)...^IFV

what would be the compatible dryer that has steam function.  The 3460 does not have steam?  Can you add more water if you feel there is not enough water to wash clothing?

Asked by: Jacquiewpb
The WM3460CV does not have the Water Plus feature that allows you to add additional water to a cycle. The DLEX3700V has Steam capability. You can find more information about this dryer here: https://www.lg.com/us/dryers/lg-DLEX3700V-electric-dryer

Where did these happen? Where did they come from?

Asked by: Hoppers
LG is an international company that has factories worldwide that the ENERGY STAR® Qualified 4.5 cu. ft. Ultra Large Smart wi-fi Enabled Front Load Washer, Model # WM3460CV could be manufactured in or it could also be manufactured from our new washing machine factory in Clarksville, Tennessee. The machine will have a nameplate attached to it that will identify the Country of Manufacture or Country of Assembly if the parts for the washer were imported from other countries and the washer assembled in a different country. That information will also be on the shipping carton that the washer is shipped in...^IFV

The washer is 30 3/4” deep.  How much additional room do I need for the hoses and power cord?

Asked by: Hoffman327
To ensure sufficient clearance for water lines, the drain line and airflow, allow minimum clearances of at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) at the sides and 4 inches (10 cm) behind the unit. Be sure to allow for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances.

I have a stack LG washer dryer.  The dryer is perfect but the washing machine needs to be replaced.  I was told that the new LG washer cannot support my dryer above it because the new washers don’t hook up the same, and the new washer is smaller.  Help!

Asked by: Gloria G
