What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can handle a king sized comforter I purchased this a couple months ago, My wife wanted a machine big enough to handle a king sized comforter. This one handles it with no problem, It runs quiet, washes great and has many different settings. It automatically adjust water level to load size, Want more water in the wash there's a button for that. You can even download additional wash setting from an app. ( I haven't tried that yet). Only 1 downfall so far, my wife is 5'2" and needs a step stool to get to the bottom of the drum inside the washer when unloading smaller items like socks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG Washer I love my new LG Washer. Deep tub; big enough to wash my comforter and other large items. I went from a front load machine back to this top load and am elated with the performance so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s a big washer I’ve only had the washer for two months. It’s easy to use and so far so good . It is pretty big . I’m 5’6 and have to get on tippy toes to reach the bottom . Great feature is that one wash will do . U can let it soak prior to washing for dirty clothes.

What cycle uses the most water.. We all seem to think we need a full tub of water to wash then rinse. Do we? If that is so how do we get it?

Asked by: TillieGirl
Yes, you absolutely need to use the deep fill option for a reasonable clean with this model. Without deep fill, not all of your clothing will get wet. Additionally, not all of your clothing will be appropriately rinsed. Discovered this when my small, dark loads kept emerging from the washer with white streaks/new dirt on them, even after an extra rinse. Poor design. LG needs to fix this flaw.

Looking to pretreat stains and rinse laundry caps. Does the water shut off when the lid is open?

Once the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 5.3 cu.ft. Mega Capacity Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Top Load Washer with 4-Way™ Agitator & TurboWash3D™ Technology, Model # WT7405CV starts to fill with water, if you press the Start/Pause button to pause the washer, and the lid unlocks so you can open it, the water will stop...^Ivan

I am shopping for a top fill washer due to the itchy rash I get if I fail to run a sanitizer only cycle on my front loading washer. Do top fill machines require this extra cycle to be run to avoid an allergic reaction. Never experienced rashes prior.

Asked by: linda diehl
The ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 5.3 cu.ft. Mega Capacity Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Top Load Washer with 4-Way™ Agitator & TurboWash3D™ Technology, Model # WT7405CV does not have a Sanitary Cycle (Steam) or Allergiene™ Cycle. Running the Sanitary Cycle (Steam) or Allergiene™ Cycle on Top Load washers that feature those cycles is not a requirement. You run the cycles at your discretion and if they help with alleviating your allergic reaction then you may want to run the cycles. You may also want to look into changing the laundry detergent you use with your laundry. Some fabric softeners that are highly fragranced can cause allergic reactions to those with sensitive skin or allergy-prone skin...^Ivan

Mega Capacity Smart wi-fi Enabled Top Load Washer with 4-Way™ Agitator & TurboWash3D™ Technology, Model # WT7405CV? Regrettably, our specifications for the washer do not list measurements for the leveling legs...^Ivan

Sensing system doesn't fill enough water to wash clothes. Supposed to be efficient buy when clothes don't get wet they're getting clean. Unplugged to reset computer which worked for one load. Not over loading, machine drum not even half full. Now what?

Asked by: Joanie N
The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.3 cu.ft. Mega Capacity Smart wi-fi Enabled Top Load Washer with 4-Way™ Agitator & TurboWash3D™ Technology, Model # WT7405CW automatically adjusts the water level for the type and size of wash load for best results and maximum efficiency. This is a high-efficiency washer, and the water levels may be much lower than you expect. This is normal, and cleaning/rinsing performance will not be compromised. You can press the Deep Fill button before starting a cycle to add extra water to the cycle. To add the maximum amount of water to a cycle, press and hold the Deep Fill button for 3 seconds before starting the cycle. Using the Deep Fill or Max. option increases the cycle time because of the added fill time required...^Ivan

Is the lid tempered glass or plastic? Does this have a soak cycle? Can the lid be opened during a cycle in case you find that errant piece of clothing that needs to be added?

Asked by: Lillibet
The SlamProof™ Lid for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.3 cu.ft. Mega Capacity Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Top Load Washer with 4-Way™ Agitator & TurboWash3D™ Technology, Model # WT7405CW is Silver-Transparent Glass and the washer does have a Soak option that provides a 30-minute presoak prior to the start of the selected cycle. At the end of the presoak time, the selected cycle will begin with the same water used for soaking. You will need to press the Special Care button to select additional features, such as Soak, Stain Care, Speed Wash, and Rinse+Spin. Press the button repeatedly to move through the available features. If the washer is running, you can use the Start/Pause button to pause the cycle without losing the current settings. If you’ve forgotten to add an item or need to remove foreign objects like coins or keys after the cycle has started, the best time to do so is while the Add Garments indicator is on. Once the indicator turns off, adding garments may affect the cycle time or wash performance...^Ivan

Why are my dark clothes coming out of wash cycle with white/gray grime on them???

Asked by: erin55
White residue left on clothes after washing is a common laundry problem. The stains can be white specks or streaks left on dark clothes or blue or green residue left on light-colored clothes and there are several reasons why your dark clothes are coming out of the wash with white/grey grime on them. The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.3 cu.ft. Mega Capacity Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Top Load Washer with 4-Way™ Agitator & TurboWash3D™ Technology, Model # WT7405CW is designed for use with only HE (High-Efficiency) detergents. E detergents produce fewer suds, dissolve more efficiently to improve washing and rinsing performance and help to keep the interior of the washer clean. Using a detergent that is not HE may cause oversudsing and unsatisfactory performance which could result in error codes, cycle failure, and washer damage. If you are using a powdered detergent, it may not be dissolving completely, leaving a white residue on dark clothes. Another reason could be your automatic dispenser is clogged with detergent or fabric softener (even liquid products will clump) that is not dissolving. Remove the dispensers and clean with a solution of two cups of hot water mixed with 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar. Using too much detergent can leave residue on clothes. This is particularly true in high-efficiency washers. These washers use much less water than a standard washer during the wash and rinse cycles. If you use a detergent that does not dissolve easily or a detergent with high viscosity, it will leave a residue and clog the dispenser. Lint, undissolved detergent, and soil can redeposit on your clothes if the water is draining out of your washer too slowly. Washing a full load of laundry is a good thing to save time and money. However, cramming too many items into a washer doesn't leave room for the soil and residue to be flushed away. Check to see if you have hard water in your area. Hard water can react with detergents and leave mineral deposits that remain on clothes. Powdered detergent doesn't always dissolve easily in hard water, meaning it can leave white spots behind on your dark clothes. These streaks might not show up in light or white clothes...^Ivan
