Can I put a qlink SIM card in a LG neon plus phone that had been owned by someone else and had their service shut off for non payment before I bought the phone?

Asked by: tucktay
Regrettably, we cannot answer your question without more information. Which network carrier was the previous owner who had his/her service shut off for non-payment using before you bought the phone and who did you buy the phone from? Qlink is an MVNO that is based on Sprint's network towers and Sprint is a CDMA network carrier so it only uses SIM cards for its LTE network. However, Sprint recently merged with T-Mobile which a GSM network carrier that uses SIM cards for its services. A SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card is a tiny, portable memory chip that stores information about you as a cell phone user. On it, there’s a seventeen-digit code that designates its country code of origin, the system carrier, and a unique user ID. It can be transferred from one device to another as long as your phone is not locked to a specific network carrier. When you make the switch, most (if not all) of your contacts and personal settings will transfer with it, making life all the easier. SIM cards are a crucial part of GSM networks, storing user information required for authentication. Ultimately, this allows both your phone to connect with a GSM network and GSM networks to track your phone usage (specifically, your minutes, texts, data usage, etc), giving carriers the information to send you an accurate phone bill. Since your SIM card is a Qlink SIM, you will need to contact them with the information for which carrier the previous owner was assigned to and who you bought the phone from, and they will advise you if you can use your SIM card with the phone...^IFV
