Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this, read this first! This Microwave Hood is made for 12 inch deep cabinets, at least on the left side where the hinges are! The door will not open!!!! LG does not warn you of that! It’s only 15 ¾” deep! Make sure you know that before you buy it

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I got a lemon and LG does not care. I bought this microwave and within a year, the display went dim intermittently. I called in a warranty repair. The tech came out to fix it and after two visits and ordering parts twice due to a damaged part being received, it worked...for awhile. The display went dim again. At this point i decided to live with it since it was an intermittent issue and such a hassle to get it repaired. Now the display is completely dark on one side. I'm stuck with it and LG won't repair it. In addition to this issue, the extend-a-vent plastic has cracked twice since owning it. Also had it repaired under warranty.

Can this microwave be vented to the exterior with a through the wall vent?

Asked by: BAM72
The LG 2.2 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven with EasyClean®, Model # LMHM2237ST can be vented in one of three ways; Roof-Venting, Wall-Venting or Room-Venting. The rear exhaust method can be used for roof or wall-venting and you need to make sure there is enough clearance within the wall for the exhaust duct. The microwave is shipped with its blower assembled for roof-venting. You will need to adjust the blower for wall-venting...^IFV

We will be using the 30 in wide micro wave with the extend vent over a 36 in range top. Is there a filler for each side to get a 36 in width to close out to cabinets on the sides?

Is this an 'inverter' type unit - e.g. cooks at 70% power, 100% of the time, as opposed to cooking at 100% power, 70% of the time?

Asked by: Toyman
The 'Microwave Power Levels' feature on the LG 2.2 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven with EasyClean®, Model # LMHM2237BD lets you program a specific cook time and power. There are ten power levels in addition to HIGH (100%) power. After you enter your cook time, you can touch the Power Level button on the control pad and enter your desired power level (0-9 and 10HIgh). If you do not select a power level, the oven will automatically cook at HIGH (100%) power. The Sensor Operations let you heat or cook common microwave-prepared foods without needing to program times and cook powers. The SENSOR COOK has preset power levels for 13 food categories. When the Sensor operations are used, the display will indicate the sensor category during the initial sensing period. The oven automatically determines the required cooking time for each food. The internal sensor detects how much humidity is coming off the food and it will tell the oven how much longer to heat...^IFV

How far down from the upper cabinet does the installation bracket need to be? My tile backsplash is 16.75” down. I know the microwave is taller than that overall but the vent system looks like it doesn’t go all the way to the back wall.

Asked by: PaulZ1020
Hi PaulZ1020. Regrettably, we do not have any measurements for how far down from the upper cabinet the mounting bracket needs to be for the LG 2.2 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven with EasyClean®, Model # LMHM2237ST. The installation instructions for the microwave include an upper cabinet template and a rear wall template that you can use to position the microwave exactly where it needs to be installed. The microwave oven has a height of 17.7" and it is recommended that you should have a minimum clearance spacing of 30" between the bottom of your upper cabinets and the cooktop/ countertop surface. When installed properly as instructed, the bottom of the microwave will then be 12.3" above the Cooktop surface. If you measure how high above the cooktop surface or countertop surface your backsplash is, you should be able to determine if the microwave oven will cover it or not...^IFV
