Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good dryer, many features I bought a washer dryer set - my dryer was actually an LG DLG4971W. It has many features and different settings. The only reason I didn't rate it excellant is because the clothes capacity of the dryer seems a bit smaller than that of the washer. Other than that, it dries even heavy clothing quite quickly, It does take a bit of time to get used to the settings. Very happy so far, had them about 3 months.

Won't stop flashing check filter. And keeps blowing air even when it first plugged in without pushing the power button

Asked by: Ron1260
We appreciate your interest in this electric dryer. According to the information in your owner’s manual, the DISPLAY panel will show CHECK FILTER when the dryer is turned on as a reminder to check the filter. It turns off when the START/PAUSE button is pressed. This is normal operation.

I was just wondering what is the warranty for Model #DLG4871W?

I see it says 1 year labor and 1 year parts. But one of my customers needs a new board EBR62707636, just wondering if this board is under warranty. They purchased the unit 06/28/2013.
Asked by: Sheena
The manufacturer’s warranty, on all of our dryers, is one year from the date of purchase. This one year warranty is inclusive of all parts which indicate a manufacturing defect.

Installation Test/Flow Sense display

In reviewing the manual supplied with my unit, it seems you may have changed how the Flow Sense displays in the Installation Test. Rather than have a square area near the "Check Filter" and "Cooling" portion of the Time & Status Display, mine has only a single "Flow Sense" LED light at the top row of the "Signal" section. When I activate the test, I get the "In5", which was the only thing in the display until the test ended with "End." However, the "Flow Sense" LED did light up partway through the test, but no other lights in the Signal column did. Does this mean a test failure? Thanks.
Asked by: Rohmer1
We appreciate your interest in this gas dryer and its features. The InS message indicates that the dryer is performing its INSTALLATION test, which tests the duct. During the 2-minute test cycle, monitor the FLOW SENSE LED on the control panel. If the LED is turned off, when the cycle ends, the exhaust system is adequate. If the exhaust system is severely restricted, the LED will be illuminated. If the light comes on momentarily, and then turns off again, this is normal, as it indicates the lamp is operational, and yet it does not remain active, indicated sufficient air flow.

Is it possible to have the door open with the hinge on the left versus the right?

My gas dryer is on the left of the washer. I would like to open the door with the hinge on the left. I am considering buying the LG DLG4802W gas dryer to replace my old one.
Asked by: Derry
Yes it is! We changed it for exactly the same reason. Follow the directions and in about 10 minutes it's a done deal.

Can you change the swing on the dryer door?

Asked by: Jup323
Open the door and remove the two plastic hole caps on the catch side by gently prying up with a flat blade screwdriver. Save these screws for later. While supporting the door, remove the 4 screws, two from each hinge. Set the door aside face down on a protected surface to prevent damage to the door or the work surface. With the door on a protected surface, remove the 12 screws on each side of the door and lift off the inner door frame using a flat blade screwdriver. Remove the latch hook and blank and move them to the opposite side. Remove the 4 screws securing the hinges to the door frame. Remove the two plastic cover caps. Reinstall the hinges and cover caps on the opposite sides from which they were removed. With the hinges and cover caps in the new locations, remount the inner door frame onto the outer door frame with the screws removed earlier. Reinstall the door with the screws from earlier. Test the swing of the door to make sure the hinges and latch are properly aligned and that the door closes and latches correctly. These instructions can be found on page 15 of your owner’s manual.
