What people are saying

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lasted less than a year It lasted 10 months and now it has a damaged screen. It is under warranty supposedly but when I reported it, LG said is not covered. To me this is a defective monitor and should be covered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent customer service I bought a LG ultra wide screen computer monitor from amazing (love the product!!!!!). When I revived the package it was missing two screws so I chatted online with LG to ask the size I would need to purchase. LG customer service was SO quick to respond and not only told me the screw size, they emailed me the 2 missing screws for free. The agent I was working with was absolutely wonderful and I loved this online process. I would also like to add it was after 8pm at night PST.

I got an answer from LG that this is a 6-bit + FRC panel, not true 8-bit as advertised. User manual even states it 10-bit, oh my... Now the question is does this monitor have color banding issue on gradients? And did the similar 2018 "WK" model had it?

Asked by: Discorz
The owner's manual for the LG 29WN600-W 29 inch 21:9 UltraWide WFHD IPS HDR10 Monitor with FreeSync states that it supports an 8-bit and a 10-bit color depth. The specifications list the Color Depth as 16.7 million colors.(that means 8-bits for each color (RGB) which is 256 which raised to the power of 3 is 16.7 million colors or 8-bit which the 6-bit + FRC panel can reproduce). FRC is a form of temporal dithering that cycles between different color shades with each new frame to simulate an intermediate shade and newer panels, and as of 2020, they often use FRC to display 30-bit deep color or HDR10 with 24-bit color panels. Regrettably, we are not aware of any reports about if this monitor or the 2018 "WK" model has color banding issues on gradients. You can contact the LG Support Center in Croatia to inquire if they are aware of any such reports...^IFV
