What are the differences between the various levels of Nano TV 80, 85, 90?

Asked by: 1ezlife
The differences between those series are what screen sizes the TVs are offered in. The 2021 LG NanoCell 80 Series is offered in 75", 65" 55", and 50" screen sizes whereas the LG 2021 NanoCell 90 Series and the 2021 LG NanoCell 85 Series are offered in 86" 75" 65" and 55" screen sizes. Other differences are that the LG NanoCell 90 Series employs the more advanced LG α7 Gen 4 Processor 4K, it has a native refresh rate of 120Hz, it supports Dolby Vision in addition to supporting the HDR10 & HLG HDR formats, it supports FreeSync Premium™, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), it has Full Array Dimming, it is an IPS Panel, it features 2 x HDMI 2.1 ports (HDMI 3 & HDMI 4), it is a WiSA Ready TV, it supports Dolby Atmos, and it features 3 X USB ports. The difference between the LG NanoCell 80 Series and the LG NanoCell 85 Series is that the 85 series, like the 90 series also employs LG's α7 Gen 4 Processor 4K, but like the 80 series, it has Local Dimming. The 80 series employs LG's Quad Core Processor 4K. The 80 series does not support Dolby Vision (only supports the HDR10 & HLG HDR formats) and the 85 series supports Dolby Vision, FreeSync Premium™, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), and Dolby Atmos, and the 80 series does not. The 85 series also features 2 x HDMI 2.1 ports, (HDMI 3 & HDMI 4) the 80series does not and neither the 80 series nor the 85 series is a WiSA Ready TV. The 80 series features 2 x USB ports, the 85 series features 3 x USB ports. The 80 series is a VA panel and the 85 series is an IPS panel. Both the 80 series and 85 series are edge-lit panels whereas the 90 series is a slim direct-lit panel, hence the difference between Local Dimming and Full Array DimmingYou can select a screen size that is common to all the series and use the 'Add to Compare' function on the product page for each series on our site so you can compare them side-by-side to see the differences between the series...^Ivan

How should I adjust the picture so that the inside/might picture is no too dark?  What mode should I be viewing it in?  For example, I watch a lot of crime procedurals and the scenes inside the station house are so dark

What is the FPS or hz of the TV

Asked by: Jospeh208
The LG NanoCell 85 Series 2020 49 inch Class 4K Smart UHD NanoCell TV w/ AI ThinQ® (48.5'' Diag), Model # 49NANO85UNA has a native refresh rate of 60Hz. Remember that FPS is how many frames your gaming computer is producing or drawing, while the refresh rate is how many times the monitor is refreshing the image on the screen. The refresh rate (Hz) of your monitor does not affect the frame rate (FPS) your GPU will be outputting. However, if your FPS is higher than your refresh rate, your display will not be able to display all of the frames your computer is producing, so although the refresh rate doesn’t technically limit the frame rate, it does effectively set a cap. A frame is a single still image, which is then combined in a rapid slideshow with other still images, each one slightly different, to achieve the illusion of natural motion. The frame rate is how many of these images are displayed in one second. Your monitor or display is where refresh rates come in. Refresh rate is measured in frequency (Hz) which is the number of times per second your monitor can redraw the screen. A refresh rate of 85Hz means that your display can redraw the entire screen 85 times in one second...^IFV
