Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing tv Bought this tv about 2 weeks ago. It’s an excellent tv. Did not understand what the big deal with Oled until I saw 4K uhd movies and now I get it. This is the tv to own for movies, they look terrific. I also use it for video games, and games look stunning, I have yet found a game that does not look good on this tv. I also watch sports and cable on it. The web os is awesome, smooth, responsive. And using this to stream content is great, uhd along with hdr and Dolby vision content, again I repeat this TV is the best for movies! My only drawbacks are the speakers aren’t the greatest, the stand helps with the volume, but I currently have it mounted. I’d recommend getting a soundbar. The other problem is I have an external hard drive with movie files on it, not all movie files are capable of playing on this tv, while on my previous tv that’s 3 years older, plays every video file on my hard drive. Also no hbo go on this tv, you have to have another smart device to get hbo go on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible TV!! I was waiting on the C8 to drop in price so long the C9 came out and I had to figure out a way to get it. Having HDMI 2.1 support was critical to my decision and I am not regretting at all!

Is there any differences between the OLED77C9PUB vs the OLED77C9AUB aside from later one not being WiSA Ready?

Asked by: BDub730
WiSA ready is the only difference between the LG C9 77 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (76.7'' Diag), Model # OLED77C9PUA and Model # OLED77C9AUB...^IFV

I just bought OLED77C9PUB at Best Buy. The sales guy tried to sell me a $350 surge protector/power strip. What surge protector/power strip do you recommend? How many joules should one have?

Asked by: Menedobandido
You will need to consider the gear that you will plug into the surge protector other than the LG C9 77 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (76.7'' Diag), Model # OLED77C9PUB since surge protectors have more than just one port. TVs and home entertainment centers will call for a more robust surge protector than some other electronics. Check to make sure that it has the UL seal and that it at least meets their UL 1449 standards and that it is s transient voltage surge suppressor. Check the surge protector’s energy absorption rating, and its “clamping voltage.” The absorption rating is, as the name implies, how much energy it can absorb before it fails. You’ll want something at least 6-700 joules or higher. (Higher is better here.) The clamping voltage is the voltage that will trigger the surge protector—or essentially when the surge protector wakes up and starts absorbing energy. Look for something around 400 V or less. Lower is better here. Finally, see if response time is listed in the product details—it’s good to know, and lower is better. You will also want to check the warranty. Some surge protectors warranty the devices connected to it for some amount of damages if a power surge does get through. Check to see what’s covered (and what isn’t), and how you can file a warranty claim if the surge protector fails...^IFV

Why does the stand of the 77” model look so much narrower than the 65 and 55 inch models.  It looks like the older stand from last year on the 77”.  The review on Digital Trends commented on how they like this years wider stand which is now all metal.

Can any of the OLED 77" Tv's be attached to a AVR receiver, if so which ones?

Asked by: Jmitch534
Like any of our other OLED TVs, the LG C9 77 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (76.7'' Diag), Model # OLED77C9PUB or any of our other 77" OLED TVs feature an Optical Digital Audio Out that can be connected to any AV receiver that features an Optical Digital Audio In. If your AV Receiver is an older receiver that only features the older Analog Stereo RCA Audio (Red/White) barrel ports, you can purchase a Digital/Analog Converter that connects to the TV's Optical Digital Audio Out at one end and to the older Analog Stereo RCA Audio (Red/White) barrel ports at the other end...^IFV
