Does the 77C9 panel have the same pixel structure as the smaller sized 55/65 C9's or is it using the previous year's (C8) panel pixel structure? Similar to how the 77C8 used the same pixel structure as the C7 panels instead of smaller sized C8's

Asked by: ART1MUS
Hi ART1MUS. Thank you for your interest in the LG C9 77 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (76.7'' Diag), Model # OLED77C9PUB. Regrettably, information about the pixel structure on our panels is not information that LG shares publicly nor does LG divulge that information...^IFV

How does LG suggest getting a 4k 120hz signal to the TV? As far as I know no graphics card will output that signal through HDMI and I haven’t found a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter that can handle bandwith above 4k60.

Asked by: 4k20
There are currently very limited options when it comes to getting HFR content to your set. 4K HDR Blu-ray is capped at 60fps (which is still high, but not game-changing), the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X can output at 60fps, and the Xbox One X has the capability to output at 120fps - at least, on certain titles. Standard HDMI cables aren’t capable of dealing with HFR content, so you’ll need to have an HDMI 2.1 (or Premium High-Speed HDMI) cable. Then there are streaming services – like YouTube – that have started showing HFR content. What this means is that in order to get 120fps content on your TV, your only options at the moment are to have the content downloaded onto a USB-stick or use a gaming console that increases the frame rate, but drops the resolution down from 4K to 1080p. The industry is constantly upgrading and changing so it may not be too long before the next generation of gaming consoles become available that high frame rate content comes into its own...^IFV

How are these new models going to deal with transcoding dolby atmos for digital output? My Sonos playbase is only compatible with dolby digital (DD). Will c9 transcode atmos to offer DD output via toslink/optical? Thanks

Asked by: Fantspak
Hi Ivanf, as Dolby Atmos signal is hidden into the bitstream of DD+ or Dolby True HD, and those formats are apparently transcoded by the LG OLED Smart TV to output via Optical link as Dolby Digital (DD) (as stated in, at least theoretically, LG OLED C9 should be capable of transcoding Dolby Atmos signal into DD 5.1 to be out via optical link.

How will the picture look for fast action sports (ice hockey, football)? Concerned about blurring.

Asked by: MikeRaleigh
The LG C9 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (54.6'' Diag), Model # OLED55C9PUA and all our 2019 OLEDs and past OLEDS are all native 120Hz panels and true 10-bit panels. OLEDs are a thousand times faster than LED LCD TVs and much faster than Plasma TVs. Blurring is the least of your concerns with OLED TVs. Their Response Time is visually indistinguishable from zero with no visible display based Motion Blur...^IFV
