What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible washer The washer continually goes off balance and restarts in the middle of a completely different cycle that where it stopped. Takes over an hour to wash one load. Twists clothing. A total waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this washer!! Love this washer!! It has lasted for 6 years and it non stop doing laundry for 5 people. The only problem that we found is that after 5 years the bleach dispenser has rusted all around it. Disappointed!! Other than that it is amazing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Longevity’s I bought the WT5070CW in 2012. After 6 years a defect in the tub seal caused water to leak on the transmission, rusting it out. I thought it would last longer than 6 years. I will not buy another LG appliance. I also had a bad experience with a refrigerator.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved it at first but..... We bought the set a few years ago for a family of 5 who are constantly doing laundry; same issue with off balance but biggest problem is the rust to top of washer under hood; can't use any detergent dispensers any more; top is more rust than white ??? is there any way to fix this??

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One Flaw Bought WT5070CW Washer and matching DLGX5171 Dryer in 2014. Satisfied with performance. But one flaw that will require attention for the life of Washer. Bleach dispenser rim rust. First noticed after about 3 years. Small pieces of rust clog bleach dispenser. Rust enters white clothes, we just do not use bleach any more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unbalanced Garbage Will NOT finish most loads. No matter how balanced a load is at start, it becomes unbalanced and stops with a tone that we've grown to have a special hatred for in this house. On top of this, the washer wastes so much time twitching and simply waiting, not doing anything. Could cut way down on wash time if this unnecessary "sensing" was removed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible! This is by far the worst washer I have ever owned. It takes hours to do a single load of laundry because it is constantly off balance. It also wastes a ton of water because it will repeatedly refill trying to balance itself, but never does. As a family of 5, I don't have time to spend hours trying to get one load of laundry done. We will not be purchasing another lg product after this. Very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just ok I like the fact that it uses the minimum amount of water, but if I have to add an item after the water is done running in it adds more water, filling the machine to the very top even if the load of clothes is small. It also makes my clothes all tangled up. Another thing I like is the fact that I only have to use the minimum amount of detergent.

I have a WT5070CW. Had it since 07/03/2012. About 6 to 8 months ago when the drum turns it would squeal. 2 days ago it started banging loud noises when drum starts to spin then the bottom plate stops. what could be the problem do you think?

Asked by: skidd
Hi skidd. We regret to read about the issues that you are currently experiencing with your ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4.7 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity High Efficiency Top Load Washer with WaveForce™, Model # WT5070CW. The machine will need to be inspected to determine what is causing it to making those loud banging noises when it goes into the spin cycle because it could be a number of things. The most common cause for a washing machine making banging noises when it goes into a spin cycle is usuallu due to worn tub bearings. Other causes may be due to the tub seal and bearing kit needing to be replaced, the Rear Drum with bearing might need to be replaced, the bearings might be worn out and several other causes. Check to make sure that nothing is caught in the drain pump as that also will cause loud noises. Why does my washer only use hot/warm water even when set to cold? I've checked both water lines and they are working and hooked up correctly.

Asked by: Serena918
Hello, we know you stated you checked, but please recheck the hoses at the home valve and the back of the washer (our hot and cold inlet valves are on opposite sides than other brands). It is NORMAL for the unit to use some hot water even on a cold wash setting. It does this minimally in order to activate detergent, UNLESS the TAP COLD wash/rinse temp is selected. If the unit is really only drawing hot and not mixing hot with cold and the hoses are not reversed, there could be a problem with the inlet valve. If this is the case, please call us at 1-800-243-0000. ^AC

The Detergent Compartment in the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4.7 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity High-Efficiency Top Load Washer with WaveForce™, Model # WT5070CW has a maximum detergent limit line in it that you should not exceed when filling it with detergent. You should never exceed the manufacturer's recommendations about how much detergent to use and you will find their recommendations on the packaging for that detergent. All the detergent you use for each load will be fully used up so you will need to fill the detergent for each load. This washer is specially designed to only use HE (High-Efficiency detergent) and because detergents come in varying concentrations, it is imperative that you follow their recommendations on how much to use...^IFV

What does the code CL mean on my LG washer

Asked by: Anonymous
CL is actually a code letting you know that Child Lock is on. When child lock is on the control panel will be disabled and settings cannot be adjusted.
