The Breakfast Torta

Who doesn't love a good breakfast sandwich? We're reinventing the classic sausage, egg and cheese sandwich by giving it a global upgrade. New ingredients to upgrade the old, a different take on the classics, and it's all for our favorite meal of the day!


Time Estimate: 10 minutes for prep; 10 minutes cooking time

Difficulty: Easy

Yield: 2 servings

Main Ingredients

  • Bodillo roll (torta bread) - 1 (sliced in half)
  • Ham - 4 to 6 slices
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 sliced Avocado
  • 1 chopped Jalapeno
  • 1/4 cup Chihuahua cheese
  • 1/4 cup, chopped Cilantro
  • 1 wedged lime


1. Prep ingredients: avocado, jalapeno (can be omitted), cilantro, lime

2. Preheat griddle or pan; When ready, cook ham until thoroughly heated

3. Place ham on bottom layer of sliced bodillo roll

4. Crack eggs into a bowl, stir until smooth, lightly season

5. Heat pan and oil lightly; Leave on medium heat

6. Pour in egg mixture, sprinkle chopped jalapenos into the pan and stir to cook eggs

7. Sprinkle cheese onto the scrambled eggs, remove pan from heat

8. Place eggs on top of ham layer

9. Place sliced avocados on top of egg layer, place cilantro on top of avocado layer

10. Squeeze wedges of lime on cilantro; Cover with top half of bread; Slice in half and serve immediately

Note: Variation in ingredients can be used; will still taste good!
