At Intersolar 2011, LG to Display Advanced Energy Efficient Solar Modules from LG's Own Integrated Manufacturing System

At Intersolar 2011, LG to Display Advanced Energy Efficient Solar Modules from LG's Own Integrated Manufacturing System
Munich. xx 2011 - LG Electronics (LG) is to showcase its latest solar energy solutions – including its new solar modules and cell technology – at Intersolar 2011, the world's largest solar exhibition in Munich.
LG will unveil its new modules at its booth (Hall A2, Stand 360) in the exhibition. Under the slogan 'Difference is in the Detail', LG will highlight its energy efficient products manufactured with LG's own technology and infrastructure network, which has eliminated subcontractors in the product development process.
"LG Electronics is one of the world's largest enterprises in the consumer product market, and solar energy is one of our key growth engines for further expansion," said Kwanshik Cho, a vice president of Solar business team of LG Electronics. "We have more than 20 years of intensive research behind us, and this has allowed us to develop highly efficient solar modules. We will be making additional investments this year to increase our production capacity to 330 megawatts. By 2013, we plan to increase this further to 1 gigawatt, making LG one of the top 10 global firms in solar power."
At the Intersolar booth, visitors will be able to see LG's enhanced new solar modules, the Mono XTM and Multi XTM, which are 8.3 percent and 4.3 percent more efficient, respectively, than conventional models.
The Mono X boasts the highest energy efficiency among all LG modules in its class. While conventional mono module products run at 240W, advanced units now operate at 260W. This improvement has the added benefit of minimizing installation costs at solar power plants.
The Multi X, LG's powerful new photovoltaic module, boasts 240W of power but with the same levels of energy efficiency as conventional mono module products. With LG's advanced surface treatment technology absorbing more sunlight, the power output of the photo-conversion function is much greater than conventional multicrystalline solar cells. In addition, the night blue cell color and piano black frame also adds a stylish finish to the Multi X's overall elegant design.
With an industry leading 25-year guarantee and LG's continuing commitment to providing comprehensive customer care service, the Mono X and Multi X are both set to build on LG's premium brand awareness. Both products were developed through LG's solar module test lab, which received full certification from TÜV & UL, a first in the solar industry.
The test lab allowed LG to utilize its own unique cell technology to ensure product quality and durability. The new solar modules are now rated to withstand frontal and rear pressure of 5,400 Pascal, as well as extreme climate conditions. LG's booth at Intersolar will be showing a 3D film illustrating how LG's solar modules can withstand constant strain and pressure even during extreme weather conditions.
LG's solar cell products fitted with a wide range of different-sized solar modules. The various sizes (4X9, 6X8, 6X9, 6X12, and 6X10) have been specifically tailored to meet the diverse needs of users within the market.
