Was popcorn being cooked directly on glass tray?
It is necessary for popcorn to be placed on a plate when cooked, instead of directly on the glass tray. This is because of the oil and butter, which heats up to such a high temperature. Placing popcorn on a plate when cooking will disperse the heat so that it does not cause any damage.
