Connecting To Your Wireless Network - Chromebase

This article explains how to connect your LG Chromebase Monitor to your wireless home network, or troubleshoot network related issues.


Click on the status area  in the lower right corner of the desktop, then click the Network area, as shown below.

Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled. The icon should match the one shown below.

Choose your home network from the list of available Wi-Fi networks.

If your home network is secured, enter your network security key (Wi-Fi password).

Advanced Setup

If using a hidden network, static IP, or advanced security protocols.

Click on the status area  in the lower right corner of the desktop, then click the Network area, as shown below.

Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled. The icon should match the one shown below.

Choose Join Other... from the bottom of the networks list.

Zoom In
Enter your SSID, security type, and network security key. If unknown, ask your network administrator.

For advanced security configurations, click the Advanced button. If you aren't sure what this is for, you likely are not using it.

Enter your advanced security details here, then click Connect.

Click on the status area  in the lower right corner of the desktop, then click the Network area, as shown below.

Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled. The icon should match the one shown below.

Choose Settings from the bottom of the networks list.

Click the Wi-Fi area as shown, locate your home network in the list, and double-click on it.

At the top, switch to the Network tab.

Uncheck Configure automatically, then enter your IP information. The name servers are also known as DNS servers.

    • Ensure the wireless router is powered on.
    • Ensure your Chromebase is within range of the wireless router with minimal obstacles between.
      Note: The wireless receiver built in to the Chromebase may not be as strong as other devices.
    • Restart the Chromebase and wireless router (unplug the router, then plug it back in. Restart your Chromebase as normal).
    • For Advanced Users: Make sure the router has SSID Broadcast enabled.
    • If the issue persists, Contact Us.
    • Contact your Internet Service Provider or router manufacturer for help obtaining the correct Wi-Fi password.
    • Restart your Chromebase and wireless router (unplug the router, then plug it back in. Restart your Chromebase as normal).
    • Wi-Fi passwords are case-sensative, so ensure you mind capital versus lowercase.
    • If the issue persists, Contact Us.
    • Ensure the wireless router is powered on.
    • Ensure your Chromebase is within range of the wireless router with minimal obstacles between.
      Note: The wireless receiver built in to the Chromebase may not be as strong as other devices.
    • Restart your Chromebase and wireless router (unplug the router, then plug it back in. Restart your Chromebase as normal).
    • For Advanced Users: Make sure the router has MAC Filtering disabled.
    • For Advanced Users: Make sure the router has DHCP enabled, or that you have the appropriate static IP settings programmed into your Chromebase.
    • If the issue persists, Contact Us.
    • Check other devices for Internet access. If none of your devices have Internet access, contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
    • Restart your Chromebase and wireless router (unplug the router, then plug it back in. Restart your Chromebase as normal).
    • For Advanced Users: Check the router's firewall settings.
    • For Advanced Users: Check the static IP settings.
    • If the issue persists, Contact Us.
