LG Gas Range - Choosing The Proper Cookware For Your Range

[Narrator]
  • This video will show you tips on selecting the proper footwear which can help extend the life of your range and make sure family meals are delicious every time.

  • Your LG gas oven range comes equipped with five burners that can cook multiple items at the same time.

  • The medium and large burners are the primary burners for most cooking.

  • Use oval burner for a griddle or oval pots.

  • The smallest burner is great for delicate food items such as sauces and foods that require low heat or long cooking time.

  • The extra-large burner is the maximum output burner.

  • Like the 4 other burners it has a wide range of temperature settings to suit a variety of cooking applications.

  • This burner is also designed to quickly bring large amounts of liquid up to a boil.

  • Use the extra-large burner with cookware ten inches or larger in diameter.

  • As you reduce the heat, keep an eye on the flame rather than the knob.

  • If you need fast Heat, the flame on the gas burner should match the cookware that you're using.

  • Do not ever let the flames extend up on the side to the cookware.

  • Select the proper burner for your pan size.

  • Do not use small pots on large burners instead use a burner that matches the size of your pot.

  • The diameter of the burner cap should be smaller than the diameter of the pot.

  • Do NOT use pans that are unstable or that can be easily tipped.

  • Try to find cookware with flat bottoms large enough to cover the burner grates, and handles that can be easily grasped and remain cool, only use glass cookware that is designed for top-of-range cooking.

  • To avoid spill overs, make sure the cookware is large enough to contain the food properly.

  • This will both save cleaning time and prevent hazardous dirt or oil buildup on cooktop since heavy splattering or spillovers left on the range can ignite.

  • Always turn cookware handles toward the sides, not over adjacent burners.

  • This will help prevent fire burns and spills caused by hot handles.

  • See the range top section in the owner's manual for an in-depth description of the proper cookware for use on your range.
