How to Replace the Oven Light Bulb - Range

[Narrator] If

your oven light does not turn on when you open the door, or when you press the oven light button on the control panel.

It may be time to replace your oven light bulb.

Your oven light bulb is a standard 40 watt appliance bulb that you can find at your local hardware store.

To change the light, follow these steps:

Make sure to disconnect the electrical power to the stove range at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel.

Second, make sure that your oven and bulb are cool before touching them.

It's always best to practice safe measures. So wear safety gloves, if needed.

Your oven light is located in the back of the oven. It's best to remove the oven racks for easy access.

Your oven light bulb will be in case in a glass cover.

Turn a glass bulb cover counterclockwise to remove.

Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the socket.

Insert the new bulb and turn it clockwise.

Insert the glass bulb cover and turn it clockwise.

Now you can reconnect the power to the stove range.

Here's a quick tip. If you find that the glass bulb cover is tightly snug, use an adjustable strap wrench to help loosen it.
