The only reason I decided to look into the all in one appliance was due to space. I had my doubts.
Well I am happy to say I love this. If you have a large family this may not be your pick, but for a few it works great.
Love the wifi so you can control it while you are away.
The clothes feel very clean, and look good when cycle is complete. It is safe to say your clothes will last longer. There are many cycles to choose from.

2nd one of these
This is the second one of these I have had, the other one was about 10 years old and the pump and heating element failed. I would not expect more than 10 years on these guys. That being said this new version is much quieter. I was used to the long dry time so it did not affect me like other people.

Can the door be adjusted for right or left opening?

Is there an Energy Guide for the dryer portion of this unit? It appears the Energy Guide available only accounts for the washing portion.

How can you get permanent press to dry without wrinkles? We’ve tried all three dryer settings. The clothes come out so hot they burn my hands and wrinkles are burned into the shirts. Support says this is normal. I don’t believe it.

There's a lot of factors you have to consider in washing your clothes in any washer such as too many items in the washer for the load size selected, Use of an incorrect wash cycle for the type of clothes being washed, On older washer models, an incorrect water level selection for the wash cycle may not provide enough water for the amount of clothes. ^James.

Regrettably, there is no specified max washing load in pounds for the LG 4.5 cu.ft. Smart Wi-Fi Enabled All-In-One Washer/Dryer with TurboWash® Technology, Model # WM3998HBA. Clothes should be loaded loosely but you should not overfill the drum. Clothes need room to tumble freely in order to get clean. A capacity of 4.5 cubic feet will hold about 20 to 22 pounds, but keep in mind that 20 to 22 lbs. of dry laundry items weigh a lot more when wet so as not to put stress on the washer, 18 lbs. will be a safer load to wash in this washer...^Ivan

Is this machine supposed to be quiet? Ours is running for the first time and is very loud.

If it is very loud, check to make sure that the shipping bolts on the back of the unit have been removed. Failure to remove the shipping bolts and retainers may cause severe vibration and noise which can lead to permanent damage to the washer...^Ivan

With no specific lint removal how often does the filter cover need to be cleaned? I am very concerned since I have 3 shedding cats.
The LG 4.5 cu.ft. Smart Wi-Fi Enabled All-In-One Washer/Dryer with TurboWash® Technology, Model # WM3998HWA fails to drain if the drain pump filter is clogged. It is recommended to periodically clean the drain pump filter to prevent clogging with foreign objects, so if you are concerned about fur from your three shedding cats, you will need to turn off the washer and unplug the power cord, open the drain pump filter cover, drain any remaining water by unclipping the drain hose and remove the plug from the drain hose to drain the remaining water then remove the drain pump to check for foreign objects more frequently. How often the drain pump filter needs to be cleaned will depend on how often you do your washing...^Ivan
