LG Action Sports Pro Team to thrill sports fans worldwide

Seoul, Korea- September 8, 2004: LG Electronics will capture the attention of action sports fans worldwide with the launch of the 'LG Action Sports Pro Tour Team'. The newly-formed touring team will bring together six of the world's top athletes from the most popular genres of action sports -- Skateboarding, Aggressive Inline Skating, and BMX.

Seoul, Korea- September 8, 2004: LG Electronics will capture the attention of action sports fans worldwide with the launch of the 'LG Action Sports Pro Tour Team'. The newly-formed touring team will bring together six of the world's top athletes from the most popular genres of action sports -- Skateboarding, Aggressive Inline Skating, and BMX.

These daring young athletes will take their breathtaking 'action skills' around the world, competing on behalf of LGE in various global action sports events including the X-Games and Vans Triple Crown. LGE is committed to becoming the most influential and supportive global sponsor of action sports, complementing its status as the world leader in the development and manufacturing of cutting-edge electronics and information and communications products.

The announcement of the Pro Tour Team, running from 2005 to 2008, follows the global sponsorship and launch of LG Action Sports Championship 2004, which starts this month in Pomona, California. In October, the LG Action Sports Asian Tour will begin in China; it will be the first event of its kind there and will also serve as the first qualifying event for the LG Action Sports Championship 2005. Next year, the tour events will go to Europe, Africa and Latin America.

The LG Action Sports Pro Team is a truly international group of the world's very best athletes. It brings together the world's top BMX riders, John Parker of the U.S. and Britain's Jamie Bestwick, skateboarders Mathias Ringstrom of Sweden and Jake Brown of Australia, and the two sensational Japanese brothers, Eito and Takashi Yasutoko, who have dominated Aggressive Inline skating in recent years.

The decision to puts its name and support behind the growing genre of action sports is in line with LGE's focused marketing strategies worldwide for its 3G mobile phones. The LG Action Sports Championship will be one of the most prestigious events in its category with the participation of all the legends of action sports. The event brings together the best in action sports with more than 200 professional athletes who push themselves to the highest levels of progression via skateboarding, in-line skating, stunt BMX and freestyle motocross competitions. The first event in California will be broadcast to 183 countries worldwide, with at least 16 hours of programming.
