Second-Generation Dual-Format High-Definition Disc Player,
'Full HD' 1080p LCD and Plasma HDTVs Among Highly-Anticipated Offerings

DENVER, Sept. 6, 2007 - The second-generation dual-format LG Super Blu" Player and new 1080p HDTVs enhance LG Electronics' robust, premium and innovative product line demonstrated here this week at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) EXPO 2007 (booth #720).
Ranked by integrators as one of the top three preferred brands for flat-panel displays,* LG Electronics has expanded its LCD HDTV line to include displays in sizes that span 20 to 52 inches.
From its new "Full HD" 1080p LCD and plasma HDTVs to cutting-edge digital audio-video offerings, LG Electronics provides custom installers some of the most dynamic technology solutions in the market, according to K.I. Kwon, president, LG Electronics USA, Inc.'s Consumer Electronics Division.
"LG Electronics' innovative and uniquely styled products are easily customizable and well positioned to aid integrators as they look to satisfy the increasingly more tech-savvy and design-focused customers," said Kwon.
World Premiere of the Second-Generation Super Blu Player
Chief among LG's new products is its highly anticipated second-generation dual-format high-def disc player, the LG Super Blu Player (model BH200). The BH200, successor to one of the most celebrated product introductions at this year's CES, further strengthens LG's position as an innovator.
The LG Super Blu Player supports both Blu-ray disc and HD DVD playback, features 1080p HDMI 1.3 with Deep Color video output and boasts advanced BD-Java and HDi interactivity, enabling consumers to choose from the widest variety of high-def content regardless of disc format.
The powerful combination of full compatibility with Blu-ray disc and HD DVD playback and advanced interactive functions provides custom installers a unique, innovative product for their customers with the latest in high-def experience.
The second-generation player will be available to custom installers and U.S. consumers in October with a suggested retail price of $999. (See separate news release.)
Expanded LCD Line Ideal for Integrators
LG's expansion of its robust 1080p LCD lineup continues with the new LBX series. The LBX series, nicknamed "Opus," includes three Full HD 1080p LCD HDTVs and strengthens LG's position as an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of flat-panel displays.
The Opus series also incorporates LG's exclusive TruMotion technology. Using a 120Hz LCD panel, TruMotion eliminates the "jaggies" usually found in LCD panels, particularly with scrolling text and fast action.
Most LG TVs, including the Opus series, include installation-friendly features such as an expert mode for custom picture calibration, RS-232 control and discrete IR remote control codes for system integration, as well as optical and coax digital audio outputs.
The Opus series is available in three screen sizes: 42, 47 and 52 inches. Suggested retail prices for the series are $2,499, $3,299 and $4,499, respectively. (See separate news release.)
New 50-inch 1080p Plasma HDTV
LG Electronics, a founding member of the Plasma Display Coalition, also announced the availability of its new 50-inch Full HD 1080p plasma HDTV (model 50PY3D), which offers custom installers and consumers a new option when designing or remodeling a home theater.
The models integrate a dramatic, side-speaker design with a unique digital index display, soft-touch controls and micro-perforated speaker grills for a high-quality finish. Similar to LG's LCD lineup, this series also features an expert mode, RS-232 control and discrete IR remote control as well as optical and coax digital audio output.
Augmenting its 60- and 71-inch 1080p cousins, LG's first 50-inch Full HD plasma features three HDMI inputs for enhanced connectivity as well as LG SimpLink" enabling easier control of other LG SimpLink compatible equipment. Its USB Media Host allows for easy playback of digital music and photos. LG's entire plasma HDTVs feature integrated ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners and LG's latest-generation "VSB" circuitry for optimal digital reception. The 50PY3D is available at a suggested retail price of $3,499.
