NATIONAL SEARCH FOR MOBILE MUSIC JOURNALISTS: BILLBOARD AND LG ANNOUNCE "MOBILE BEAT" CONTEST

New York, NY Billboard-the world's most trusted source of music, video, digital and entertainment news, charts, reviews and analysis-will partner with LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. (LG Mobile Phones) to search for a new breed of mobile music journalists to hit the "mobile beat." As many as 30 contestants will receive a free LG camera phone and the opportunity to cover the summer's best concerts, posting photos and reviews to a personalized blog featured on billboard.com.

This contest marks the first-ever blogging partnership between Billboard and LG, the global leader in consumer electronics, home appliances and mobile communications. Tapping the latest media and mobile technology to spotlight the best of the summer concert season, the contest launches May 11, 2007. By logging onto billboard.com, entrants submit a personal photo and a 100-word written statement explaining why they should be chosen to win. Contest rules and regulations will be posted on May 11, 2007. The deadline for submission is June 11, 2007.

"This contest will showcase the summer's best concerts, while providing music fans the opportunity to read about the concerts from the point of view of their peers."

The winning contestants receive an LG enV phone with free mobile service and VIP press passes to local concerts, festivals and shows in their area. From June until late September, the bloggers will capture the highlights of local concerts from the all access advantage of their VIP seats. Using the enV's 2 mega pixel camera, they can snap and upload concert footage and reviews to the Billboard.com blog site in real time.

In October 2007, three contestants with the most popular blogs will be named finalists. A grand prize winner will then be chosen, receiving the ultimate prize of an all-expense paid trip for two to a Billboard Music Award show. The trip caps off the contest with this premier event and offers the winner exclusive red carpet coverage from an insider's perspective.
