LG Gram - How to Set and Remove the BIOS Supervisor Password

Supervisor password is used to access the BIOS setup menu.
Setting the supervisor password prevents other users other than the supervisor from changing the BIOS environment.

※ Password reset is possible with the help of a professional engineer. If you lose your password, you will need to request service.

➔ As soon as the laptop powers on, hit the [F2] key several times to enter BIOS.

※ As SSD-mounted laptops boot up very fast, hit the [F2] key immediately after powering on.

➔ How to set the password

1. Select the [Security] tab - [Set Supervisor Password] and press Enter. Next, follow the steps below.

① In the “Enter New Password” field, input a password of up to 8 characters and press Enter.

② In “Confirm New Password”, input the same password entered in “Enter New Password” and then press Enter.

③ When you see [OK], press Enter.

④ If the password was successfully set, the status of "Supervisor Password" will change from [Cleared] to [Set].

2. Press [F10] on the keyboard. When the confirmation message appears, hit Enter for [Yes] and the changes will be saved. Lastly, reboot your laptop.

➔ How to reset the password

1. Select the [Security] tab - [Set Supervisor Password] and press Enter. Next, follow the steps below.

① Enter your current password in the “Enter Current Password” field and press Enter.

② Do not input anything in the “Confirm New Password” field, and just press Enter.

③ Similarly, leave the “Confirm New Password” field blank and press Enter.

④ If the password was successfully removed, the status of "Supervisor Password" will change from [Set] to [Cleared].

2. Press [F10] on the keyboard. When the confirmation message appears, hit Enter for [Yes] and the changes will be saved. Lastly, reboot your laptop.

1. Select the [Security] tab - [Set Supervisor Password] - press Enter. Next, follow the steps below.

① In the “Enter Current Password” field, input the existing password and press Enter.

② Do not input anything in “Create New Password” but just press Enter.

③ Press Enter for [Yes].

④ If the password was cleared successfully, then the status of “Supervisor Password” will change from [Installed] to [Not Installed].

2. Press [F10] on the keyboard. When the confirmation message appears, hit Enter for [Yes] and the changes will be saved. Lastly, reboot your laptop.

1. Click [Security] → [Account’s Password] → [Set Supervisor Password] and click the [Enter] button.

2. In the [Enter New Password] field, input the desired password.
Input the same password in [Confirm new Password], and click the [OK] button.

3. Press [F10] on the keyboard. When the confirmation message appears, hit Enter for [Yes] and the changes will be saved. Lastly, reboot your laptop.

➔ How to remove the password

1. Click [Security] → [Account’s Password] → [Set Supervisor Password] and click the [Enter] button.

2. In the [Enter Current Password], input the existing password.
Leave the [Confirm New Password] fields blank. Press the [Enter] key for the fields without any input and then click the [OK] button.

3. Press [F10] on the keyboard. When the confirmation message appears, hit Enter for [Yes] and the changes will be saved. Lastly, reboot your laptop.
