LG Laptop - Troubleshooting Windows Not Booting and Boot Menu is Displayed

Booting may fail if the UEFI BIOS settings are not configured correctly. If that is the case, go to BIOS settings and check if the Secure Boot option is set correctly.

※ The [Legacy OS Boot] menu no longer exists as of the 2019 released Phoenix BIOS "W1ZD1200".
If you force shut down the system while Legacy OS Boot is Enabled (Default: Disabled), then it is reverted to the default value (Disabled), resulting in boot failure.

How to configure UEFI BIOS settings (video BIOS)

※ BIOS screen layout and menu names may vary depending on the model.

After restarting the PC, press the [F2] key on the keyboard to enter the BIOS menu.

※ In the [Boot Menu], use the mouse to click the [Setup] menu below [App Menu].

Go to [Security]→ [Secure Boot Configuration]. Then switch [Secure Boot Option] from [ON]→ [OFF].

In [Advanced] → [System Configuration], switch [Legacy OS Boot] and [UEFI Boot] to [ON].

※ In [Advanced], if you see [OS Selection] instead of the [System Configuration] menu, then click [OS Selection] and set the operating system to [UEFI(Win8 or Win7)].

Click [OS Selection] to set the operating system to [UEFI(Win8 or Win7)].

Press the [F10] key on the keyboard and then press the Enter key when you see [Yes].
Changes will be saved and the laptop will reboot.

Phoenix BIOS model

After restarting the PC, press the [F2] key on the keyboard to enter the BIOS menu.
Use the left/right directional keys to select [Security] - [Secure Boot Configuration] - [Secure Boot Option] and switch the option from [Enabled] to [Disabled].

Select [Security] - [Secure Boot Configuration] - [Secure Boot Option] and switch the option from [Enabled] to [Disabled].
Select [Security] - [Secure Boot Configuration] - [Secure Boot Option] and switch the option from [Enabled] to [Disabled].

After pressing the [ESC] key, use the left/right directional keys to select the [Advanced] tab.
If [Legacy OS Boot] and [UEFI Boot] are set to [Disabled], switch them to [Enabled].

After pressing the [ESC] key, use the left/right directional keys to select the [Advanced] tab. If [Legacy OS Boot] and [UEFI Boot] are set to [Disabled], switch them to [Enabled].

※ In the [Advanced] tab, if you don’t see [Legacy OS Boot] and [UEFI Boot], then press the [F10] key on the keyboard to save and restart the system.
Then try the above steps again.

Press the [F10] key on the keyboard and press Enter key when you see [Yes]. Changes will be saved and the laptop will reboot.
Check if the laptop boots successfully.
