LG TV - Troubleshooting Low Audio When Connected via Bluetooth

  • Troubleshooting

At a Glance

If your LG TV is connected to a Bluetooth speaker and the volume is low even after you turn it up using the remote control, you need to adjust the digital sound out settings or reconnect the device directly from the Bluetooth device.

Try This

  1. Confirm the Volume is Turned Up

Check volume levels on both devices to ensure the volume is turned up by pressing the [ + ].

  2. Change the Output Audio Setting

If your Digital Sound Out is set to Dolby or Auto, changing the setting to PCM can boost the volume performance.

Dolby sound is designed for surround systems connected via eARC or ARC. PCM can be the better option when connected via Bluetooth, Optical, or when using the internal speakers of the TV.

How to change the Digital Sound Out Settings on LG TV:

    Note

Steps may vary depending on the TV model, for more information please check your owners manual.

    1Go to [Settings].

    2Select [All Settings].

    3Select [Sound].

    4Select [Additional Settings].

    5Select [Digital Sound Out].

    6Change to [PCM].

  3. Unpair and Pair the Device Again

If there is a poor connection between the Bluetooth device and the TV, it will cause problems with the sound.

    1Unpair all Bluetooth devices.

    2Restart your device.

    3Pair the devices again.

  4. Test with Another Device or Connection Type

If applicable, try connecting via Optical, ARC, or via Bluetooth to another device to see if the problem continues.

    Note

If volume is low when connected via Optical or ARC, the unit may require service for a proper diagnosis.
